Americans excell in more "practical" disciplines such as medicine, social sciences and so on,
but russians surclass them in the more abstract disciplines like math and so on.
Nevermind the brain drain: many american top scientists are first or second generation immigrants.

So they'd better let go of the myth of american exceptionalism.
