i play piano and violin
my mom is a classical musician who plays violin in local chamber orchestra back home

Sweet! Both of my parents and my younger brother played viola. I played trumpet, but put that down a long time ago. My dad does still play in the the local orchestra from time to time. Did you just start the quarter? Things going well in your classes?

Ok, this is bugging me now. I've found all manner if ads for it from the '80s, but not the one I'm looking for... Don't fail me, interwebs...

You can do it! I believe in you. Leave no digital stone unturned, it's hiding there somewhere.

Wow, Naoko, that's impressive! I have an office/guest room/throw shit in there when company comes over room and it needs some attention. I've vowed to clean up the clutter before the puppy arrives on Friday.

Do you have your new cat yet? She is adorable! I had a black cat when I was younger and I adored him.

This has been a truly shitty day. And now I'm doing some tedious work that could probably be improved by a stiff one. A drink, that it! Now where did I put that rye ...

John said:
W00t! Nice job there! You can actually enter the room....or escape if needed. Oh, would you like that Arrogant Bastard delivered personally? Uh...talking about the drink...not the person.

Hey all the guys, thank you for all your encouragement getting me through! This is a job I've waited years to tackle. It's looking like it might be possible to get on with it now, huh.

LOL, John, you can come and help out with the laundry any time and if you are carrying a beer with you, I will even let you stay and watch the rugby - although you must not ask silly questions during the match ;)

Shea, the kitty cat is picked up tomorrow morning. I will come on and burble all about it. I saw the piccie of Tinkerbell in Isolated, John - so sweet and hilarious! but I couldn't download Figaro. Can you pop back and see if there's a problem?

Hi, Willie, Steve. Hullo danger.

I had a little bit of a lie-in this morning - only time all year I'll get to play my own music in my own bed! I'm going to make French toast, anyone for a slice? It's a beautiful day here, awash with sunshine like Golden Syrup, I might take mine into the garden.

Well good evening, Duchess. Oh, a rugby match in exchange for a good ale? I'm up for that. I think I have a good idea on the rules. I just watched an episode of Top Gear where they played a rugby match with a bunch of Kia Cee'ds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-ITUa4RRHs

Here's a repost of Figaro, I'm pretty sure I tested the link. http://sdrv.ms/TJM2Cw

What a looker! He takes after you, then. ;)

That piece of music was a bit of a surprise, LOL. I was expecting to get my ears blasted off.

Playing rugby in cars :eek::eek:. Oh dear oh dear. I'm serious about not interrupting with silly questions now. I will cook the big fried breakfast, men can bring the beer round (no lager, please) but NOBODY must say silly things like, "why are they all hugging each other in the mud".

I'm taking my French toast out into the sunny garden now. I can't believe I don't have to run out the door screaming, "What do you mean, you need freshly laundered sports kit today and you only just decided to tell me?!!!"

Sorry danger, I skipped you. I will hve to blow you a kiss.

LOL, our cat looks just like that kitty. I look ... nothing like that lady ;). I just posted piccies of the cat in Isolated if you manage to get back and check it out.
:)

Figaro says "Meow Meow" (Thank you, Duchess) ;)

Don't worry, I'll be good and figure things out. As long as you don't ask "why are the cars only turning left" during a NASCAR race. :D

Breakfast outside in the sunrise? Sounds like a wonderful time.

Oh, you'll enjoy this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kI4yoXyb1_M

LOL, if that was a little pig, that would be just what our house was like before Piglet took off to go and be thrown down rivers and have to plait her own hair at night.

Awww, my little piggie. I hope you had a good breakfast.

Wow, that French toast was totally perfect. That was a surprise cuz I was just blurting away on here, going Oops, the butter is burning, better shovel it in. It was just carmelised slightly black on the outside - crispy and sweet but not burnt tasting. And the inside was so fluffy! Coo, what a winner.

No no, you don't have to worry. I know my place when the motor racing is on the tv ;). I will be in the kitchen in a frilly apron going, "Anyone for food heavily soaked in saturated fats? Here are all the commercialised sauces with too much sugar in! Let me just pop out on my cycle and fetch in more beer for you, sweet things." (If Willie manages to put a recipe for really good ketchup in Di's thread I will be putting that into pretty glass dishes.)

Ah, so is the little one on her camping adventure or just another piglet exchange?

Mmm, you got another slice of French Toast to share? Could I bribe you with some house cleaning for it? ;)

...And I have a purring Tinkerbell curled up on my lap, happy pawing at my arm while I type.

LOL, is Tinkerbell writing the story for you? She (he?) should collaborate with Jon, whose location is first star to the right and keep going till morning.

Y'know I liked that music so much I googled Two Steps from Hell , now I understand. I really love movie music. Sometimes I just put on the 'Marry Me' suite from Pirates and listen to that.

I suppose you just like it for the music but I liked the piccie too. When I was a kitten there was some gothic art around that I totally fell for. It had warrior princesses with fur boots and bikinis, LOL, riding giant wolves in the snow. I have no idea who the artist was or how to find it!

God, my kitchen looks like a bomb hit it! No no, you keep writing, sweet thing. Here, I'll pop on French toast for you *sizzle sizzle*, slrup onto plate. Eat up and don't have coffee! I know you like to stop up and write but you do need your sleep.

:rose:

(ETA, Piglet is off on her adventure! and I so I can go on mine )

Hehe, no she was sitting here reminding me that she was sooooo cute and I could never be mad at her for anything ever.

I've always loved movie soundtracks. I really like Two Steps from Hell, I usually like to sit back and listen to their music while I think up scenes to the story with it. Like my own personal brainstorming soundtrack. Audiomachine, John Dreamer and Mark Petire are good ones too. There does always seem to be some good pics in those videos. But I really find the music inspirational. If my story, New Life in a New World, were to be a movie, this is what I'm sure the trailer music would be. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhtwlqqoW9k

Oh, thank you for the toast! :D I'll try and stay away from the coffee for tonight. Sure you don't need help in the kitchen?

Your adventure sounds like a lot of fun. ;)

LOL, I will probably get to cycle down to the shop to buy more tea, that'll be about the extent of it really. I had some adventures in mind but I'm more excited about my study now. Maybe I'll go to the beach if cleaning the house doesn't take the whole day . I found my favourite Ska CD and the new Tom Jones album. (Which is really , not a bit like his old stuff, she adds hurriedly, oh allright, I do spend lots of time listening to What's New Pussycat, snigger.)

This kitchen is where I actually sorted all those papers yesterday so it really looks like a bomb hit it! I'm so proud of getting into the study that I don't even mind, though.

You should watch the caffeine intake, honey. I know it's boring but life is sweeter when you have good sleep.

OK, I better hang out the three loads of laundry I did knowing it was going to be a fine windy sunny day, and put another one on and do the kitchen .... La la la, another lazy MILF day .

And if anyone seriously can remember that artist who did the slinky women in fur boots and bikinis, I would love to know. (Not you, sweet pea, you are just a little bit too young to remember them. LOL.)

My first thought was Frank Frazetta (one of my favourites), but the only wolf / woman image I can find is this one...

frazetta-wolves.jpg

Possibly it could have been Boris Vallejo (another favourite):

Ringing any bells...?

On an unrelated note, I'm gutted to report that I can't find that ad anywhere... Maybe I just dreamt it. :(

Hey, they look gorgeous! Maybe it was that artist but different piccies? I'll put in a good morning's work looking for those. Oh, the bathroom? OK, well I could sweep it quickly with a glance perhaps ... I remember the pictures as more precise in the pencil line. They tended to have sharp-edged icy backdrops, with icebergs that might have been palaces sort of thing. Or I could have made that up. It was a lo-o-ong time ago, LOL! Even before I got the Cyndi Lauper hairdo, ROFL.

I'm just putting my first order together on Hive, Steve. Annoyingly, they seem not to have Two Steps from Hell CDs yet but I've asked them about it so perhaps they'll come up with them. Hey, everyone, Hive is a cool website Steve found which is an excellent alternative to Amazon and supports local real bookstores. Danger, you hate Amazon so if they have it in the States, you'll like it.

Drat, I believe it's UK only. Two Steps From Hell does sell their CD's on CDBaby, but since it's US based, you would pay international shipping. They are also available on iTunes. I just came across this song from Mark Petrie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrFxW8M4Ec4

LOL, I have the sweetest little i-pod. It's very beautiful and I sometimes wear it as an ornament but I have no idea how to use it. You'll have to give me lessons, dahlink. ;)

I found something else to post in Humor. :D
