So, to get the thread going, based on my last post - what are YOUR saddest songs? The ones that can make YOU tear up? The ones that trigger emotions in you every time you hear them? Come on, spill the beans, don't be shy ...![]()
Pictures of you by the cure, pretty much the entire Disintegration album. But I listen to a lot of different music mostly vintage stiff, I can't seem to relate to most current stuff. I play giutar, been playing for 30 years and have played in several bands, mostly metal. I enjoy 70's and 80's music the most. But I am open to anything.

I've just discovered a band called Rilo Kiley, fronted by former child actors Jenny Lewis (Troop Beverly Hills, The Wizard) and Blake Sennett (Salute Your Shorts, Boy Meets World) and they're brilliant! I've now downloaded all their albums - when I find someone I like, I go mad ...
They've been around since 2001, and their songs have frequently been used on television programs, such as The O.C. and Dawson's Creek, so I might have heard them before without even knowing.
Check them out ... here's one of my favourites, 'Does He Love You?:

Get a real job, keep the wind to your back
And the sun on your face
All the immediate unknowns are better
Than knowing this tired and lonely fate
Does he love you?
Does he love you?
Will he hold your tiny face in his hands?
I guess it's spring; I didn't know
It's always seventy-five with no melting snow
A married man, he visits me
I received his letters in the mail twice a week
And I think he loves me
And when he leaves her
He's coming out to California
I guess it all worked out
There's a ring on your finger
And the baby's due out
You share a place by the park
And run a shop for antiques downtown
And he loves you, yeah, he loves you
And the two of you will soon become three
And he loves you, even though
You used to say you were flawed if you weren't free
Let's not forget ourselves, good friend
You and I were almost dead
And you're better off for leaving
Yeah, you're better off for leaving
Late at night, I get the phone
You're at the shop sobbing, all alone
Your confession is coming out
You only married him, you felt your time was running out
But now you love him and your baby
At last you are complete
But he's distant and you found him
On the phone, pleading, saying
"Baby, I love you, and I'll leave her
And I'm coming out to California"
Let's not forget ourselves, good friend
I am flawed if I'm not free
And your husband will never leave you
He will never leave you for me
them. If you like them you should check out Meg & Dia. Ithem. If you like them you should check out Meg & Dia.

Meg and Dia? Again, never heard of them ... will go and do some research ...![]()
Monster and Rebecca are definitely two of my favorites by them.

I see Adele's album "21" has returned to no. 1 on the Billboard 200 this week. It's now occupied the top spot a whopping 24 (non-consecutive) times! It sold another 75,000 copies, and, remarkably returns to No. 1 for the first time since March 17.
It's now the first album to be in the top spot for 24 weeks since Prince & the Revolution's "Purple Rain" soundtrack, way back in 1984 and 1985. So far, it's sold 3.52 million copies in 2012.
