I can think of two right off the bat.

One, which is generally found in the description portion, is:

"She (or he) get more than she (or he) bargained for."

The other is usually found at the end of the story:

"And we fell asleep in each other's arms."

Got any lines that you see way too much whilst browsing to share?

How about

what you are about to read is a true story (or variations on that theme)?

'But that's another story.'

Octavian

S**t! Someone else uses my ending.

Og

PS: "I need feedback" and "We fucked all night." are overused.

And how many heroines are blonde with 36DDs? or the heros have massive equipment that has more loads than a belt-fed machine gun?

I don't know about specific lines, but I've developed an allergy to people checking themselves out in the mirror so the author can describe them. It's used in just about every other story I read.

Okay, I got one:

"I/she was still in good/great shape..."

OK, I confess.

I, the defender of romance, have visited the non-consent section. My official excuse is that I'm doing research for the story I'm writing on the subject for the Survivor contest. Last year's non-consent story, Laura Collins, was awful. I'm truly ashamed of that story. I need to learn how to do better, and that was the ONLY reason why I went into that section. Really. I mean it. Honestly.

Anyway, when browsing through the titles and descriptions for something digestible, I saw the same line over and over again, obviously written by people who all thought they were being very original.

"Female boss gets brutally raped... or does she?"

"Snotty tease gets what she deserves... or does she?

"Preppy cheerleader is forced to serve the whole team... or is she?"

...you get the picture. Please, either it's consent or it's non-consent! Make up your mind! And don't ask the reader such a question - if YOU don't know, how are THEY going to know?

... or does she?

I've noticed that too. It really annoys me: it's as if they want to write this stuff, but don't really have the guts to follow it through all the way. It turns out to be the husband, or the boyfriend or some special birthday surprise. It all turns out okay in the end and they all live happily ever after.

I think it cheats readers ... or does it?

Or does she...

You guys don't understand at all: The classic male fantasy is not straight rape. It's that the woman is reluctant until the man forces her, and then his masterful and itterly irresistable love-making awakens the sexual animal within her and she becomes an active and very willing participant in the love-making.

It's another version of the sleeping beauty myth, and maybe the original one: the frigid beauty brought to vibrant life by the man's kiss. Every man's dream.

I write a lot of non-consent, and my stuff always goes like that. In fact ASSTR (or whatever they're called: the adult fiction repository site) has a separate category for this kind of stuff. They call it "Reluctant" to distinguish it from "Non-consent".

I hate the very idea of rape. To me there's nothing in the least sexy or exciting about it. It's assault of a very vicious kind.

But the idea of turning a woman into a wanton sex-goddess with one touch of his magic wand has a deep and I think universal appeal to all men (and a lot of women too, to judge from my mail) even though they know it's not really going to happen.

So what do you call it if the woman gets swept up in her own passion after the man kick starts her engine? It's not non-consentual it's not consentual.

So the "Or does she?" probably comes from this. That's no excuse for the hackneyes phrase, but that's probably what the authors are trying to convey.

"It's Your/My Turn now."

Every time one character gets or gives oral, the next line is "It's your turn now" or "it's my turn now" when they change positions to "return the favor."

From mature stories:

"...and because he was young he was already hard again."

From incest;

"My mom had me when she was really young and at 36 still had a great body"

The one I detest;

"I couldn't believe I was going to fuck the hole I came from"

"He/she didn't have an ounce of fat on her/him."

Ah, yes... she doesn't really want to have sex, but she "gives in" (Why? To avoid being hurt? To end the nagging? To be KIND???), and then he's so good at sex, that she suddenly becomes horny.

Apart from the fact that I think it's disrespectful of the man to ignore her will and think that "nah, she'll change her mind once she sees how good I am" - which is, in fact, a way of forcing his will upon hers...

...I have only met two or maybe three of an awfully big number of guys, who have actually been good enough to be able to actually make a reluctant woman horny.

But still, just the fact that he doesn't respect her initial will - she's not horny, and she just doesn't WANT TO BECOME horny - is enough to turn me off. If someone did that to me, I would be extremely pissed off with him as soon as we were done, because he had used my body's desire to make me do something that not ALL of me wanted to do.

Love-making is not the same thing as two people performing a sweaty wrestling match with the same goal. That's "copulating".
Love-making is when two people WANT to have sex with each other, at the same time.

Svenska, it's a fantasy. It's not reality. It's a fantasy!

No one takes this as a guide to proper sexual behavior between men and women. It's a fantasy a lot of men have, like saving the world or scoring the winning touchdown at the superbowl or having some woman come up to you and rip your clothes off because you're so damned hunky. No one thinks the world really works like that. I hope.

Portnoy who?

There's a line written by Phillip Roth that I've always wanted to work into a story:

"I had just fucked the family's dinner."

Now, that's writing!

Illiterately, MG

Personal to Pookie,
Re your new AV: Don't worry, dear, they'll grow.

Yeah, sometimes I wish my boyfriend would just grab me, throw me down on the bed and do rough depraved things to me. But he won't, because he's such a freaking gentleman and respects women and believes no means no and all that. Which is one of the reasons I'm with him. But that means I lose out on the forcible sex... which wouldn't be rape at all, because I asked him to do it in so many words... but he won't, because it makes him uncomfortable cause he's such a good guy. Argh. I was with a guy who did that sort of thing, forced me to do things, and I liked it a lot, but I didn't like him very much.

As far as the overused lines, I think I've done a few of them myself... oops.

I think the whole Truth or Dare angle is a bit overused, IMO. Ditto exposing one's self to the pizza delivery guy. Which I may use in a story anyway, just cause I'm so intregued by it.

i couldn't believe

A line I would never miss is

"I couldn't believe I was fucking this gorgeous girl."

or the corollary

"How did I end up being fucked by this gorgeos guy?"

There are many variations: groups, POV, and gender swaps, but the sentiment is the same.

Yes, Bridget! You nailed that one.

And all the variations on "I couldn't believe I..."

Call me recalcitrant, call me weird, call me on 1-800-LUURVE but I have never ever fantasised about scoring a winning touchdown in any bowl, super or otherwise.
