Since I signed up to the website in mid-July, I've managed to publish 283,800 words. That's an average of approximately 3500 words per day that's actually made it into a finished story. I don't know if this is something to brag about or if I need professional help. 🤔 Some of these stories were started before signing up, but not too many.

Oh, and one of my stories was briefly in the top 5 of All Times in the Fetish category. It has fallen since then though. But I was quite pleased with that - even took a screenshot!

Writing erotica is my therapy; cheaper than professional help.

I reached 5,000 followers today. I'm number 71 on the all-time list. It took me 58 stories in six years and ten months to get there.
I’ve been writing just over 4 years and have 49 stories but far, far fewer followers. I/T and LW stories clearly bring in many more followers but somehow I can’t bring myself to write in those categories. Congrats, BTW.

Category choice has a huge impact on view numbers, and views correlate positively with favorites and followers.

Queen of the Roller Derby passed 5,000 views yesterday.

I know that for those of you who publish in I/T and LW, that's a drop in the bucket. But a 52k story about a lesbian roller derby star in the 1950s is, of course, a harder sell. It came out of the box strong, hitting the 100 vote mark with a score of 4.98, and briefly sitting at #1 on the Novels and Novellas all time top list. Then it got 1-bombed down a bit, before rising back up to settle in at 4.91.

But, for whatever reason, even with that high score, the view count slowed to a crawl. It took longer to hit 5k than any of my other stand alones.

And that is a little bit of a heartbreaker, because, honestly, I think it's the best thing I've written. I am very grateful for all the wonderful comments it's received.

I finished the first draft of my first ever erotic story yesterday. I've had the idea in my head for over a year, so getting it finally written down is a relief.

Now the long grind of editing begins - the story is almost 26k words long.

I have one story at #16 for last 30 days in BDSM (My Pretend Sex Slave 02) and another in top 30 for last 30 days in Non-Con (Ivy League at Any Cost 12), and 150+ following.

I'm in awe of some of the wild stats you long haulers are pulling (except Diventer, I'm in awe for other reasons), but I'm happy.

Last chapter posted yesterday, and next chapter is already in final edit, with another half written. This is big progress for me. The big brag is word count.

You damn well ought to.

(Working toward ten years, myself)
Good for you, Melissa.

My old man makes 40 years sober this month. He had triple bypass surgery earlier this year and the doctor had some concerns about how it would go. Night before my father told me that if its his time the most important thing to him is he died sober.

Man, I get that. I have built a life of loving relationships and fulfilling work, and it all rests on that foundation.
