Still, better than eight stories and 22 followers. No complaints, it’s all relative, or something.
I’m clutching at the possibility that low readership leads to more red ‘H’s? Discuss.
That’s probably not wrong. A low following means (probably) a more focused following. Fewer chances at hate-followers, followers that really liked one thing you did (but not others), etc. Having a lot of followers means more chances to disappoint someone by giving them something they don’t want.

I had one email communication on either The Richman Wife or Written in Blood, and he/she was extremely disappointed with me. "There wasn't enough fucking in this story, a fucking novel-length story and not much sexy. You disappoint me." I don't care; I like those two just the way they are.

I have been told, variously, that my stories:

* Don't have enough fucking
* Have too much fucking
* Have awful, weak MMCs
* Have cruel, heartless MMCs
* Don't have enough revenge
* Have too much revenge
* Are too long
* Are too short
* Spell out the endings too much
* Leave the endings too ambiguous
* Drag the endings out
* Cut the endings too short
* Have too much "middle aged loser" fantasy in them
* Should have the MMC end up with younger/more women
* Had an age gap in Mature
* Didn't follow the right "formula" in I/T
* Was too cruel in a cuckquean story in Fetish
* Wasn't realistic enough when it included things that happened to me in real life

And on and on. It becomes very easy to write for oneself when you're the only person you can really please.

The site really defines the old "You can please some of the people some of the time."
There is a faction and subset in every category and you'll hit with some and miss with others.

This isn't so much a numerical milestone, but it's still important to me.

When I started Love, Family, and Betrayal, I wanted to subvert every common (and inaccurate) stereotype about abusive relationships. I even included a note at the end of each chapter describing some of the most common signs of abuse. My hope from the beginning was to craft a story that would mean something to real-life abuse survivors, and it appears I did. I've had several people who got out of abusive or violent relationships thank me and tell me my story means something to them. That always warms my heart.

It's frustrating because this series is my only one that scores below 4.5, and it was my first creative writing in more than a decade, so there are some real flaws in my writing. Regardless, I'm proud that I managed to help people in real life.

I finished a 70k word story that people seem to like. In the last 60 days I've written 30k words. I've struggled to write consistently for most of my life.

The things I'm writing seem to have a (small) audience that like them. Told my significant other what I was actually writing. It was an awkward 3 minute discussion, but was like "Yeah, I'm pretty good at this."

I don't know what's going on but I keep reading this thread as the Milfstone thread.

Hmm. Lara Croft and the Search for the MILFstone. The MILFstones of Shanara. The Rolling MILFstones. Tarzan and the MILFstones of Opar.

You might be on to something there.

I started writing fiction for the first time and posting stories here on LitE two and a half years ago.

The total views for my stories just exceeded a half-million. And after all the 1-scrapings, the average for all of my stories is 3.8. That's almost a "Like!"

And considering that half of my stories are in Loving Wives, I consider that a win.

You should do the break down of average score of your LW works, then non LW to see the difference.

My red h's are still there. Yes they are the highlight of my year.
So a backhanded compliment here. The reason I'm writing erotica is I've hated almost everything else I've ever written. I want to call myself a writer, but one actually has to write / publish to get that title.

The fact that you have been writing so long without the red H is actually cool and inspiring.

I respect the grind, and not giving a damn what other people think as long as you are going the direction you want (even if I struggle with it).

The average rating for my 16 LW stories is 3.4, and the average for the 17 others is 4.2.

I think that goes to show that LW stories which are not BTB are rated about 0.8 lower than in other categories. (My stories are always about swingers and sharing.)

But on the plus side, about 370K of those half million views are in my LW stories.

Certainly, LW is one of the most read categories, it may be the most read. So, if you want lots of views, write for LW. If you want higher scores, don't put them in LW.

It wasn't completely intentional, I just had the resolve it'd never heppen. I'm glad if it is inspiring.

I'm rather eclectic as a writer. Dipping my toes into whatever pool interests me at the moment. Only of few of my 127 followers are concerned beyond if there is some sex or a lot of sex in my stories.
I’m almost all E&V. Whenever I step out of that category, my few fans start booing.

Since I signed up to the website in mid-July, I've managed to publish 283,800 words. That's an average of approximately 3500 words per day that's actually made it into a finished story. I don't know if this is something to brag about or if I need professional help. 🤔 Some of these stories were started before signing up, but not too many.

Oh, and one of my stories was briefly in the top 5 of All Times in the Fetish category. It has fallen since then though. But I was quite pleased with that - even took a screenshot!

You are missing the obvious one here: THE MILFstones. Wilma and Betty are serious MILFs.
This reminds me of how there was always the "Ginger or Maryanne" debate, and then at some point a "Wilma or Betty" came along.

Having a serious thing for redheads it was always Ginger and Wilma for me.

Then I married a redhead and now....

I still have a thing for red.
