That’s cool as fuck. Good call on sticking with it, it blew up big time… the comic and show are definitely one of my favorites in zombie media. 🥰 I’ve been wanting to watch the new spin off so bad but I don’t wanna run the risk of any bleed over inspiration so I’m going to have to wait until I wrap my series up.
I hear that. The came out with a show called Emerald City which was supposed to be a dark imagining of Wizard of Oz. I started to watch it and in the first episode the wicked witch of the west, was introduced as a lesbian who runs a brothel. This was while I was halfway through book two of my Abigail series featuring a witch who owned a sex club in Chicago and was a lesbian....so too close to home and no need to mess with the muse.

Seems I didn't miss anything, the pilot season only had a few episodes, was reputed to be awful and not renewed.

WD I gave up on around issue forty with Michonne being raped, its just too much in a comic.

Aw man, MediocreAuthor and I were talking about that issue not too long ago—that shit was dark… and I usually like dark but yeah, that was very dark for a comic. He brutalized her. She got her revenge but that shit was still wild as hell, crazy as fuck to see in a comic of all things.

I thrive in the horror genre. I usually like shock factor and surprising twists… but when it seems like it’s just being done for the sake of doing it, that doesn’t make any sense to me… I like to focus on the plot. That’s lazy material if you ask me.

I get the feeling I’d get along pretty well with your daughter from how you describe her.

I was never a cool kid so I wouldn't know.

I’d say you’re definitely a cool kid of the AH forum.

I did make sure I checked out the issue where she lops his arm off cauterizes it, then nails his dick to the floor. I don't think I could have done better(Nah, who am I kidding I had an author tell me a scene in Abigail was on the level of Ketchum's Off season) but still way too much in a comic.

There was a series called Loveless set in the Civil War, I read the first issue and liked it enough to check out #2. Page two a full page scene of a woman being gang raped on a table. Put that one down.

It was sad because at the store the top of the long rack was where I'd put comics I didn't want kids grabbing. Near the end that shelf was nowhere near enough. The industry shifted from kids to 40 years olds, but not just ones who collected their entire life, but the freaks who want to see sex and rape and other extreme content in what for decades was a medium for kids and fun escapism.

Thanks, but that takes me out of the misfit outsider where I'm so very comfortable. Can I be both cool and misfit at the same time?

The first year or so of TWD was brilliant, but before long I realized it's the same story arc, repeated over and over, each iteration containing more gratuitous violence than the one before. Fool me once, shame on you, food me twice, shame on me. Try to fool me a third, fourth, fifth time, go fuck yourself.

Funny I had decided to edit my original post to not talk about that scene, but Seraph was already replying to me. I agree, first was the town, the whisperers etc and it got carried away. I felt the same way about GOT, the initial no one was safe and some of the violence was appealing, but then they just relied on that and the story spun and spun.

There's gore and violence that are fitting and then there's the type there for the sake of "look at me" shock value.

Well, sweetie, their dead and walking. How much more can you tell about them?

The catch to TWD was the zombies were an ever present device, but the focus was on the survivors and mostly in the direction that even faced with extinction people are sick pricks and killing each other. It followed books like King's Stand and McCammons Swan Song as well as other post apocalyptic stories....or today's news.

That revenge scene is HOW YOU DO REVENGE SCENES, if you ask me. I have a LW project I'm writing which borrows *very minimally* from that scene, but it was definitely in the back of my head as I plotted it out.

The series I’m writing plays a bit to this angle… but also to the survivors rebuilding their society. Which still isn’t all that great but there are obvious good people in the story still trying to make their way. It’s dark… but as I’ve been told, justly so. There’s boundaries I won’t cross with it, but it’s in NC/R for a reason.

I have a bad feeling you're a lot closer to her age than mine...sigh.

The baby face confuses some people, but I’m thirty two. I think I’m pretty median age as far as Lit goes?

The only people I consider cool are the misfits, so… yeah, as far as I’m concerned, you’re very cool Mrs. Dynamite. 😁

Thanks....my daughters are 33/30. The other day a woman at work asked my age, then said wow, I thought you were in your early forties. I was disturbingly pleased by that remark.

Well now I’m curious, you gonna share with the class or leave us guessing?

Me:
"She reach her hand out and gently coiled her fingers around his manhood, biting her lower lip when she noticed the moisture which had formed at the tip. His arousal was her own aphrodisiac; she began to stroke..."
-fuck this is some hot stuff!-

The scent emanating from his flesh, the arousing mixture of icy hot and old spice, yes old spice, the scent my father wore. I was riddled with indecision. Should I hop on to his viagra enhanced cock, or just ask him for my allowance and if I could borrow the car?

My wife created my lit handle and to bust me up put the year I was born in it. I turned 55 back in April.

I’d say you’re comfortably in the oh so Daddy zone, and hey if you’re still looking forty you should feel pretty good about it. Though I think men have it easier than us ladies when it comes to aging… you guys just get hotter, and we ladies start looking like raisins with wigs.

The double standard of we can go gray and its either sexy or distinguishing. My hair is what makes me younger, still thick and mostly dark, but the streaks are coming in on the sides.

The goatee on the other hand...that is now all gray.
