The "Maryland Burger". Heaven on a bun.

For the record, I don't use Old bay, I use Canadian Steak Seasoning.

I also cook on a gas Weber

So about 6 months ago, I had the most amazing burger at a local restaurant. They called it the Maryland Burger. It was basically a burger topped with a mini crabcake (obviously flattened a bit) and melted provolone cheese.

Yesterday I decided to try making them on my own.

I purchased top quality ground sirloin burgers and crabcakes from the seafood department of my local independent grocery store.

I baked the crabcakes myself after dividing them in half and re-forming them a bit. Pennman grilled the burgers to perfection.

As soon as the burgers came off the grill, we topped them with the baked crabcakes and the provolone, and then popped them in the oven for just a few minutes to melt the provolone.

The delectable creation was then served on a kaiser roll.

Wow. Just wow. It was even better than the one at the restaurant. It's the best burger I've had in my life.

So for those of you that love seafood and beef, you HAVE to give this a try.

Anyone else have good recipes that they have created on their own or duplicated from a favorite restaurant that you would like to share with me?

Alternatively, we could talk about pretty much anything else.
Damn. That sounds off da HOOK!!!!

Beef & crab. Surf n turf on a bun. Send me some mama. :D

KETCHUP!

Do you ake me for a Phillistine madam!?

But something... it just seems as though it would need something...

I first pondered the idea of a sweet corn relish... awesome with the crabcake...then decided it wouldnt play well off the sirloin ... yet anything that compliments/accentuates the beef does not pair well with the crab... yet it CRYS OUT!

Why have you foisted this dillema upon me :(

Mayo.

Why don't you cruise on up here with Blueby and Somey next month? I'll cook for ya!

ACK! ACK!!!!!!!!!!

There's probably already some type of mayo-like substance in the crabcake. Any more would be overkill.

That would be crab salad, which I bet you could spoon onto the burger in place of a crabcake.

I would agree with you though, I wouldn't put anything on it (OK, maybe some remoulade). I only suggested the mayo as a potential solution for expertise.

Trust me, the burger is perfect as is.

You people and your compulsive need to mess with perfection. I just don't get it.

Cool. Hook me up with a $300,000 low interest mortgage on a sweet house I've got my eye on, ok?

Oh, and I need the payments to be around $800 a month. No problem, right? :D

And the payments can't start till I sell this house......

Yeah, maybe on an interest only loan deferred for 30 years. :p

Wish I could still do out of state loans sugar.

It needs nothing. It is perfection in and of itself.

The crabcake will already be seasoned by it's very nature.

You're cute when you're mad.[/QUOTE

I am ALWAYS cute thank you very much
