Valentine's Day.
They have come and gone. Sometimes quietly, sometimes happily and sometimes it has been just another day, aside from family. Yesterday I took the plunge and did something I had been asked to do today. Why? Because I wanted to give a certain someone a smile, that meant more to me than any hesitation on my part.
My evening ended with warmth, laughter and a few other descriptive words that make me smile just thinking about them. For now though, I shall leave them unspoken. I have coffee brewing and three posts to work on.
Time to get busy.

Strange as it may sound to some, especially my family, I really do enjoy some quiet alone time. Yesterday was mostly spent that way. Normal duties were carried out, the roomie (aka my charge) is down sick with a cold so keeping an eye on him amounted to checking in on him periodically and to scold him to put socks on his feet when he did venture out from his room.
But the day ended on a very gratifying note. I spent the evening on the phone with a mostly quiet, low key, gentleman of Lit. He made me laugh until I had to beg him to stop because my stomach hurt so much. Did he listen? Hardly. He's a Dom. *grins* The fact that he was laughing just as hard was music to my ears. I honestly believe him when he says he loves to make me laugh.
A birthday present? I got a few.
I got birthday greetings from people of Lit, some from people I don't even know. You all made me smile. Thank you.
His present to me? He sang to me. Twice. I can't remember the last time someone did that for me.
I am wary. Skittish. Hesitant. Skeptical. About a lot of things. He knows all this and he's still around. The man is nuts. Or needs a lobotomy. I'm not sure which.

It's a verbal thing. It loses something in writing it.

Spring must be in the air. I see the daffodils blooming and I'm starting to thoroughly clean house once room at a time. The only time I get the urge to do that is when Spring is on its way in. Gods, I hate dusting, but I do that too while I'm going through clutter and getting rid of it. How the sam hell do I accumulate so much new clutter every year??

There was nothing pressing to force her from bed this morning. It's been a three day weekend. A flip of her wrist and the comp boots up. She has a file open, an Elana post to finish and then one for an elfy girl, Myria to write. As always with dryfter, thoughts are rolling around in my head where his thread is concerned. Those thoughts won't solidify until I start to write for him and it's my goal to get both piece done today.
Sitting back in her chair, her mind wanders a bit as she sips her coffee, contemplating and after a moment or two, simply shakes her head.
Nope. Not worth it.
She'll just be here for the reasons she is. For the main reason she is, to write and share those writings in a like-minded community.
The chair tips upright. The coffee cup set down. Fingertips find the keys.

Tuesday. A Tuesday after a holiday Monday at that. Ugh. My day has barely started and already I feel pulled in a hundred different directions. My morning, a bit later, is going to kick everything off. People needing rides to work because their car broke down. A charge who needs a ride to his bowling... the list is endless today.

My day was ever so hectic. There were people to taxi about town. Car parts to buy. Kidlets to retrieve and deliver home. A charge to fetch from his usual bowling day. Finding time to sit still and eat before my blood sugar bottomed out. Everything was done, everyone seen to. So, hopefully the rest of the week won't be so hectic. Hopefully.
I managed one post tonight. I'll get to the other two in the next day or two. For now, it's off to bed with me. To dream wicked thoughts being put into my head. *smiles*

Morning has brought its awareness to me. Now if only the coffee would hurry. Sleep had been much needed and I find in my absence, another couple of responses are required. Quickly reading through them, I have to smile. Now, to settle in for a bit and write.

Mmmm. Thursday. Finally. It means the weekend is almost here. I can use the break in routine. This week has left me with circles under my eyes but I can't quite pinpoint why that is. It could be that, but I'm leaning toward blaming him. He has unashamedly said he's the reason for it. So, I'll go with that.
The Spring Clean-up was on hold while I dealt with normal family crisis. Now that those are dealt with. >.> <.< The clean-up can start up again. Actually, I want a week long break. A weekend is never enough. I always seem to take one day to relax. Hell, that's half my weekend. Unfortunately, I'm not getting a week off until the end of March and work waits on no one. Okay, okay... when I'm procrastinating it does. I try not to do that very much. I get too far behind.
I am going to finish this post, maybe take a shower and then work on another post before Yoga. I needed something else besides the treadmill since using the weight center is out of the question. Yoga it is.
Ooo. I need to go find a book on Amazon.
I'm so easily distracted.

She had just returned home and was headed straight for her study when a flash of color caught the corner of her eye. She stopped at the foot of the steps. There, laid upon the steps were tulips. Her eyes closed briefly for a moment and when she opened them again, she bent to retrieve them.
She was good.
The bouquet found a home in a crystal vase and were set on her desk, to admire and be reminded of the man who left them for her. He wasn't someone one could forget easily, at least not her. He had been on her mind a lot these past few days.
She was good.
The world carried on.

Ache. I do. Mostly from the waist down, which surprises me especially with the core exercises. I'm still not completely sure yoga is for me, but I'll definitely be doing it again though. Even though I didn't feel like it relaxed me last night (trying too hard to figure out everything and keep up), I do feel much more relaxed in body and mind this morning. One thing I did learn for sure yesterday, I'm not limber by any means, despite what I do around here. *sigh* There were times yesterday I wish I was young again.
So, despite the ability to maneuver down a dark hall through semi-closed eyes, hair sticking up and lying in every direction, to find the coffee pot and retrieving a cup of the dark rich brew, I think a hot shower is called for, followed by writing for Usagi and Fr33k.
M13 and Fish made me smile. Fish, I will let bask in his accomplishment though my fingers itch to write him a response now. I had to grin at a note from M13. I beat him to the punch, this time. I need a little time to think on poor Ashlin's predicament.
In the world beyond this one, I have family coming for the weekend, cupcakes to make for a lad who celebrates his twelfth birthday this weekend. He'll celebrate with his immediate family on Sunday. So, I have a house to polish up and menus to plot. First, I need to build a fire. There's a chill in the air this morning but a beautiful day ahead.

A wolfling comes wandering carrying a plain white envelope with the word~LADY printed upon it. A small hand raps lightly upon the door, whilst a short body waits impatiently for the door to be opened. Once it is~ Wolfling presses the card into the woman's hand.

On the hall table. Facing the door, so she wouldn't miss it when she came in. Her keys were deposited in the bowl and the envelope picked up. Fingers slid under the flap as she opened it and the card taken out. A smile as she read it before tucking it back inside, taking it to the study with her.
It was something she simply wanted the Wolfing to know.
The card was placed with the others she had been given by Luna. The box tucked back into the drawer. The chair beneath her tilted back as she read another elf post.
