One more day. The place would be a little more quiet. The maids would be moping for some time. And as for herself, well, she'd miss his caustic tongue, his wit, his teasing. She'd simply miss him, period. Life doesn't slow nor does it stop. She also knew the time would fly and hopefully, before they both knew it, he'd be back where he belonged.

As she gave brief thought to the time ahead, while she couldn't know anything for sure, it would be a trying time for both of them, for different reasons. His room would be kept ready for him, for his eventual return. Eventual being the key word there.

She wished him well. Wished him safekeeping and wind to his wings.

He is her friend and this place was going to be a bit duller for his absence and he had better not forget his promise!
 
I'm off in the morning and this will be last check in for several months. I appreciate all of your thoughts and the little moments you've made to help me enjoy my time back on Lit. I'll see you, and your wonderful guy, on the other side of it all.

Don't tell the maids but I'll be making my return in uniform.
