A debit card is usually safer. Though oddly, a lot of places no longer do debit transactions. When you use a debit card at many places now, they just run it as a credit transaction anyways.

That's because businesses are no longer being charged by banks to run debit transactions. This removes the need for the company to distinguish a credit transaction from a debit transaction.

In the past, if you chose debit, you were charged a small fee for the convenience of not having to write a check. People, obviously, began choosing credit to avoid this charge because their card would only function as a debit card - anyway.

Now, with banks no longer charging businesses for the transaction, businesses are no longer giving customers the unnecessary choice of debit or credit.

Howdy yall, n no there is still a difference. Credit you sign... Debit you punch in pin, and i think cred still takes longer to process. I like that I literally can't overspend with my debit. I'd hope I'd not fuck up on a credit card, but I dunno. Beenm thinking about gettin one with just enough on it to pay my insurance and phone each month. Then set up my debit to pay credit automatically. Build my cred score with no worries/stress. n since balance totally paid off each month, no interest right? but still helpin me.

Yeah, I know, but a lot of places don't even do debit transactions anymore. The Subway nearby...the grocery stores in town...the liquor store down the street (the closest place with Powerade ...or anything else, for that matter v.v)

I think that's why I love stockings so much.
