She merely made a soft murmuring sound as her eyes closed and she drifted away on exhaustion tempered by sated passion.

A good old fashioned breakfast buffet on the back porch or lanai as she was use to calling it, was being offered. The table hosted hot grits, slabs of smoked honey ham, buttermilk biscuits so fluffy and light, they melted in your mouth, eggs, bacon, pancakes, toast and there was coffee, orange juice, milk for pomegranate juice or drinking. Oh! And can't forget the sausage gravy for those biscuits.
Cait herself was still sleeping as a certain lion came calling late or during the wee hours of the morning, technically and there was no way in hell she was going to turn him away.
*Prowling through the bushes in the maze, searching for butterflies, (Honest! I wasn't peeking in windows hoping to see some naughty action!) my attention is arrested quite suddenly by the delicious aromas permeating the morning breeze. Like something out of a cartoon, my nose lifts to the scent the air and leads my footsteps until I peek out from the bushes, spotting the morning banquet all laid out on the porch.
One step, emerging from the cover of the leafy bushes.....
Two steps, hesitant, but intrepid.....
Three steps, spotting Cait, putting on my friendliest face, violet eyes crinkling with a hopeful smile......
Good morning, Cait. It looks like you have, uhm, quite a bit of food there! You, maybe, need a little help eating it all?![]()
"Milady Thryi, " she grinned, "I knew I could draw you out. Please, come, help yourself. The staff made more than enough."
....Thanks, Cait. This is a great way to start a Sunday! And after, maybe catch up on a little more writing, then its off to the range to try out my new pistol! And what are your plans for this sunny day, my friend?
She certainly startled but the lady is a mischievous elf after all. Sitting back in my chair, sipping coffee as I share a leisurely brunch with a good friend, I contemplate my day.
"Well, first things first. I'm off to get my nails done and then it's some writing time for me. After that?" she shrugged, "it's probably off to go enjoy the nice weather since I have some time to myself today."
That sounds like a wonderful day. And the food truly is delicious! Thank you for inviting me.
*He's never actually come here before, but somehow the necklace knew where he wanted to be. He'd taken it between his thumb and forefinger and focused on what he wanted most at the moment. A crackling of energy and a sudden darkness took him away from his shop and transported him....elsewhere.
Once his eyes had adjusted to the illumination, he recognized the larger pentacle, standing out even past the other equipment in the room. It was cast in iron and it was certainly made to last. He smiled and pulled up a chair. He figured if the necklace brought him here, she'd know it as well....*
From the ether, she felt the tugging and felt her breath catch in her throat.
No. Really?
Her eyes twinkled with hidden mischief and something else.
This One. This One summoned and she was determined to answer. For too long their paths gone their separate ways. He was the very first she felt drawn to and yet... she was tugged away in so many different ways, with so many different people and he always was patient. He deserved better than patience.
The shadows at the back of the room were defined more so by the flickering light of the flames of the scones on the walls. No sound preceded her this night. She wore no shoes. A simple summery type dress that came to mid-thigh. She smelled of vanilla and her hair was unbound and free flowing.
She moved through the shadows, her eyes seeking his as she crossed the space that separated them.
"You came."
Two words, as she stopped a mere couple of feet from where he sat.
