It's Sunday morning, almost 8 am and that was a sleep in for her. Sitting back in her chair, a coffee mug cradled in one hand, her hairbrush stroking through her hair with the other, she looked off into space to consider what to do first this morning. The RW would demand her attention later but for now.... geekdom or creativity. Writing her first love but her brain wasn't quite in gear yet. Geekdom required no thought merely do. So...... Geekdom it was.

Lazily her fingers set aside the hairbrush and reached for her trusty mouse. Forward together, they would ride into Geekdom and get lost in Night Elf boomkins, hunters, dwarf munchkins, and a gnome mighty might. Until the new expansion comes out... then she could add a Panda monk to her list. Yes, PANDAS. She snickered, remembering.

She wasn't overly fond of the pet combat arena which struck with too many strong overtones of Pokemon. But the game would have to appeal to a lot of others, those more geeky than she was. The new dungeons looked and sounded fresh. Those appealed to her too. She reserved judgement on the new talent trees and the major class changes. Although as a hunter, she was excited. A BM was so limited in the game and this change would level the playing field amongst hunters.

She swiveled her chair around and waited for her game to load.

A quick glance at the calendar and it dawns. October is almost gone. Already? Leaning my head back against the chair, closing my eyes on a sigh. That just means we're all the more closer to the holidays. Twice a year my family gathers. Thanksgiving and Christmas. Twice a year I exhaust myself cleaning the house, baking and cooking. I suppose I never give in the the temptation of all the sweet goodies I bake because I make myself so tired. Tired of looking at food and tired of body. I'm not complaining because it's twice in the year I really look forward to.

So, it's time again to begin raking over cooking websites I have collected, locating recipes of things that sound great and wanting to give them a try. Find recipes of goodies I want to bake for gifts in celebration of the holiday. I also start shopping for presents for the yuletide as well. Lists! I need wish lists from everyone. I reach for the phone. Time to start making some calls. It's never too early.
