Not too shabby. *He sizes her up, glad to catch her in clear light, not moving closer or further, nostrils flared to catch her scent, enjoying the shock, eyes intent, but merry* Working on a post for Sasha. Yourself? Also, if you do the highlander thread please let me know. I loved the idea. Especially if we can incorporate the seelie and/or unseelie.

*ushes her long black hair back over her shoulder, smiling shyly

Of course..still working on an outline...but druid highlanders are sticking in my mind..*smiles

I have a thread with a higlander setting but the male character isnt but a brief descrition if you wanted to take a look at it

Hrm... I may have to. That would be interesting. Druids and the dark fey. xD Enchanted claymores, armor, fertility rites, maybe a lil sadomasochism...Epic fights to rp....Sounds delightful..

*Walking arm in arm with my friend, we emerge from the treeline near the garden maze, pausing in the moonlight to admire the view of Cait's mansion in the distance. I experience a moment of doubt as I realize I am dressed in various cast off bits and pieces of clothing, common items left behind in the lost and found from the Outlook. My own clothing was long ago left behind, at my Mistress's insistence. Now I am on my own, and seeking a place to spend the night before I continue my quest for my own home.

I squeeze his hand as my friend stands by my side. He is dependable, always supporting me in good times and bad. I am lucky to have a friend like him.

*I make my way through the grounds, skirting the maze. I got lost in there chasing butterflies once. Only the sweet smell of Cait's breakfast helped me find my way out. I recall that memory with fondness, wondering if Cait's breakfast on the morrow will be as tempting.

At last I pass by the pool and step onto the back patio, knocking lightly on the patio doors, hoping Cait will let me stay for a night or two. After waiting for a time, I turn to spot a comfortable looking lounge chair with an afghan coverlet. So tempting it looks, and I am tired. I think to sit just a moment, to rest myself, curling up on the lounge chair, pulling the afghan over me. It's warm and soft. If I close my eyes just to rest them for only a moment, I'm sure I'll hear when someone opens the patio door in answer to my knock. Before I know it, I drift off into slumber.*

*Som hears the knock at the door from where he's dozing by the fireplace. Told he was welcome anytime, he's been here a bit. Since the Mistress of the home is out, he had locked up. He pads out, smelling Thyri's scent.*

Hmmm... *he follows it, seeing her curled up on a patio chair.* Thyri... *He calls softly, touching her cheek before cradling her small body in his large arms* You should come in. There is rain in the air....

*Murmuring sleepily as a familiar voice enters my dreams, "Som? You stay here too? I have nowhere else to go tonight. Is there room for me to stay here?

*Feeling his warm fur surrounding me, cradling me in his arms, I shed the afghan, leaving it in the lounge and let him lead me inside. The hour is growing late, and I just want to find a warm dry place to sleep.*

Uh huh. At least for the night. Didn't think I'd make it to my den before the storm breaks. It is a mansion. I'd assume there's room. I was curled up in front of the fire. Make a cozy lil pile where I could see the stars, feel the breeze and bask in the warmth. I can call a maid or you could join me. I swear I'll behave. *som smiles, waiting for her reply he realizes she seems to have maybe dozed off, so just tucks her in next to him, wrapping an arm around her, kinda protective, debating sleep as well.*

Coming through the front door, humming a soft little tune, she paused. Company? She moves with liquid grace through to the Great Room and pauses, smiling, as she sees the two curled up in front of the fireplace. Quietly, so as not to wake either and cloaked to keep the leopard from catching her scent, she moves around the room turning off lights. She pauses to scribble a note and leave it where Thryi can find it when she awakens.

Milady Thyri,

You are always welcome in my home, dear lady. Please feel free to pick a room upstairs for your own.
The rooms already occupied have a nameplate on them, but there are plenty more to go around.
Som is welcome too, but I have a feeling he might prefer his den.
So is Angel. All who seek shelter, will be given it.

I'm sorry I wasn't here to greet you both or Angel tonight. I had plans out.
You look like you're in good hand---er paws.
Help yourself to anything in the kitchen when you awaken, Milady.
I shall see you on the morrow.

Love,

Cait. ~

She tiptoed off to bed, closing her bedroom door behind her quietly. Tomorrow was a new day.

*Dream images come to me, visions of a deep and enchanted forest, a place where energies ancient and elemental abide. Somehow I know it is the place I am meant to find. Somehow I know that when I find it, my heart will sing and I will be home.

I awaken slowly, peaceful and contented, warm, secure. Finding strong furred arms wrapped around me, I remember the fleeting final moments of consciousness from the night before. Som, allowing me inside, cradling me by the fireplace. It wasn't a spare bedroom, but it was nice.

Disengaging myself from his sleeping form, a soft stroke along his fur to settle him back in his slumber, I spot the note from my friend and take a moment to read it. How valued a treasure is her friendship to me now. More and more, she reminds me of Kira, my former bodyguard and friend, another red haired warrioress.

So many dwellers of this realm remind me of those in my homeland. Cait reminds me of Kira. Luna reminds me of Tetyanna, but only in that she's a wolf shifter. Luna seems much more in tune with her wolfen form than Tet ever was. Tet never fully accepted that part of herself as something other than monstrous. If only she could have seen herself as I saw her, as I see Luna now; as a beautiful spirit, wild and free, a perfect integration of woman and wolf, bringing out the best qualities of both. I am so happy to count her among my friends here.

And the Gladiator, in so many ways like Elendar, kind, caring, always attentive to my feelings, a good man. I glance back at the sleeping Som, the newest friend I've made here. Who does he remind me of? Breed, perhaps, or Prrip? No, not Prrip. Hers was a sad story. In either case, I didn't know them as well. Som is like them in form only, perhaps kin to their race.

Silent feet pad to the kitchen, my intentions to find food for breakfast. An idea comes to me, perhaps a way to show my gratitude for my friends. A short exploration shows me where everything is that I will need. I set to work at my task.*

Her nose twitches.

Is that coffee I smell?

No, wait. *More nose twitches without opening my eyes*

I also smell food. Bacon. Where there's bacon there's more to follow and my stomach is growling at me. A quick shower, clothes and my bedroom door opens. A quick look in Great Room shows that no one is about. I follow my nose to the kitchen. Someone has been cooking and from the looks of it, I bet it's Milady Thyri.

*grinning at the sleep tussled red head, I gesture to a seat, placing a platter of eggs, sausage patties, ham, bacon, and biscuit, along with a couple ripe strawberries before her.

I know you like your morning coffee, Cait. But try this breakfast. It's mostly all protein, only one carb source and the berries. Good for folks like us who watch our sugar. Of course you're welcome to the bagels and pancakes too. I even found some sugar free syrup. You have a very well stocked kitchen. I hope you don't mind that I fixed breakfast. I wanted to thank you for letting me stay here.

My eyes are directly on my coffee mug, picking it up but the plate of food Thyri set before me is making my stomach growl even louder. I silently shush it.

"It looks marvelous, Milady and as I told you, you're welcome in my home any time. Especially in my kitchen," glancing down at my plate, I grin.

"I'll stick with the protein." And oh such a naughty grin it is too as I pick up up a piece of bacon to nibble on.

"So, Milady Thyri, have you decided to build your own home and where you'll make it?"

I know that's it's always nice to visit and stay with friends, but no matter how welcome they make you, it's even nicer when you have someplace to call your own.

The aroma draws him downstairs automatically from his bedroom as he descends the stairs. Still dressed in his night clothes, he peeks into the kitchen and notices the two women before his eyes move to the delicious food on the table.

"Good Morning, Ladies."

"Good Morning, Ladies."

Over the rim of my mug, I grin widely. My eyes showing pleasure and the wicked thoughts commence.

"Good Morning, M. Come, join us. Thryi has made more enough. I don't believe you've met my Elven friend. Milday Thyri, this is Mav, My Treasure," I smile over my mug, "M, this is Thyri, one of my Elven friends."

"Good Morning, Milady" he smiled at Cait and walked towards the table to plant a kiss on her cheek, not able to help himself from glancing at all the food on the table, before turning to Lady Thyri. He wasn't sure whether she would mind him hogging on all the food that she had prepared specially for his Lady.

"Nice to see you again, Thyri. I believe we have met before, very briefly during the pajama party at the Outlook. How have you been?" He smiled and sat down in the chair next to Cait, watching her nibble on the protein, giggling to himself.

*Putting a slice of ham on a biscuit, along with a folded egg for good measure, I sit with Cait, enjoying the morning repast.

You're absolutely right, Cait. Even as welcome as you've made me, as Dorothy said, 'There is no place like home.' I need to find my own. I've had dream visions of what it will look like, or I should say, where it will be. I don't know what I'll find when I get there, but I'll know it when I see it, if that makes sense.

*Offering a wave and a friendly smile to Mav as Cait introduces us, I gesture to a seat where another platter of food is placed.

Hello, Mav, it's good to meet you again. As Cait said, I made plenty, probably enough to feed an army, but it's a big place and I wasn't sure how many would be here. Please have what you will.

She watched him sit down next to her and felt his eyes on her. Her grin widened as she gently bumped her shoulder into his. She knew exactly what M was thinking.

"What?" He grinned at his Lady and then turned his eyes away from Cait towards her friend and smiled once again.

"Thank you, Thyri. All this looks splendid, and tasty. I'm gonna start eating, if you don't mind."

He grabbed a sausage patty and a biscuit, along with an egg and placed it together to take a bite, before turning to look at Cait, who had that wicked grin on her face.

*Eyes twinkling with mischief as I note the giggle and the grins, imagining what they might be about.*
Good thing I didn't make that white gravy to go with the biscuits, huh, Cait. The poor boy probably wouldn't be able to take his eyes off you then. ;) :D

Mav, if you're going to let your mouth hang open like that, you might as well put something in it. *popping a stawberry into his mouth, then lifting his chin with a finger to close the gap.* :D

He grinned at Thyri's comment before the mention of white gravy to go along with the biscuits and sausage made his mouth water even more.

He turned to her as she addressed him and without notice, popped the red little thing into his open mouth. He gasped and blushed as she closed his mouth with her finger, eyes lowering, then looking up at her, and then at his Lady, before quietly crushing the strawberry between his teeth and letting the juices fill his mouth. He idly grabbed a piece of bacon from the plate and tried to keep his lips closed while eating.

She glanced at M, still smiling as she set down her mug and picked up her fork to stab at some of the scrambled eggs.

"Nothing, darling. Absolutely, nothing," she glanced at Thyri, "You would have made him swoon over biscuits and gravy, Milady."
