The Male Obsession with Women's Hair

I have been saying for the past 6 months i wanted to get my hair cut. My umm male friend knew this and said it was a good idea it was starting to get in the way. It was all the way down to my ass and naturally wavy. I spent 45 minutes a day just combing out knots and blowing it dry. So today i went and got my hair cut they took a giant 21 inches off of my head!! So now i have a nice chin length cut with long layers for volume. So i show my friend and his exact words are "WTF did you do to your beautiful hair?" This coming from the man who gets mad when he swallows my hair in his sleep!!

So men?
DO you prefer long or short hair on women or a medium length (between the chin and shoulders)?

I know you dont want to here from me but recently i have had people asking me this question. I wold have to say i like medium chin to shoulder lentgh. but with an addendum to that staement i find some women look better in a certian cut than other cuts and each woman has to find for herself what she likes and what makes her happy and her happieness makes the whole cut look better.

Naked Hunny do you like your hair? If you do that is all that matters. I had a boy friend that broke up with me because I cut my hair. Boy was I pissed because I really liked the cut I had. Men are funny that way I guess. Its not like they have to brush and blow dry it!

As a woman with REALLY long hair, I have to say it does seem to attract the attention of men of all ages... all of you EOD fans who have those old pics of me from back in the day and know that my hair was pretty long in the pics, well, it's now halfway down my back. And Mr. 27 year old would have shit fits if I ever cut it, his disappointment would be unbearable to live with for awhile, I'm sure! BUT...

I just watched "The Thomas Crown Affair" with my husband (yes, all of you who remember the story: we are still separated, but separation suits us; we get along great now, he is a wonderful person and we can actually sit down and watch movies together and enjoy each other's company!), and I have to say that I thought that Rene Russo's hair in the movie was SOOO sexy! In every frame in this movie, her hair looked great, yet it always had that tousseled (Sp. check please!), just-had-sex look to it. She's about mid-40's in real life, and since the big Four-O is right around the corner for me (to be honest, I'm gonna run smack-dab into it in a few days), I'm thinking of doing IT: The Cut. And when I do it, I'm not gonna be cutting it for any MAN, I'm gonna cut it for me, because it's what "I" want to do .

And that's all that matters.

Yeah, I like it or I wouldn't have it cut like this. I think it looks much better on me than the past shoulder length cut I had for years before this. Thing is, most guys don't seem too crazy about it, but all my female friends love it. Oh well, can't please everyone all the time.

And ex called me "androgynous". He was obviously just trying to be cruel, and he DID have sex with me, several times, so I don't take any stock in it. But still...

I've noticed many of my friends chop their hair off when they break up with a guy. I wear mine long 'cause it's part of me. When my hair dresser decided to "make it a little more healthy" and I lost the bottom 12 inches I was NOT a happy camper. AND when I have a partner, I love trailing it across his stomach and thighs...*sigh*

I prefer it long on women, but short can look good too. I think a lot of it has to do with the shape of the woman's face. I just love the way long hair feels when I run my fingers through it... can't do that as well with short hair, so put me in the long hair camp.

I love my hair long, like the feel of the ends of it brushin on my nekkid butt. Call me weird but it feels good. The navy made me cut it to join up. Silly me, I did it anyway and lost well over 2 feet of length. I cried for a long time. My hair is comin back, is down to my bra strap now, tho I gotta kill the split ends and that'll get rid of some length.

I have attack hair. If there is a nostril or eye within range it finds a way to get into it. My StudMuffin was ecstatic when I cut my hair cause it always goes up his nose. Well, he was happy for a few days. He missed it too much.

At any rate Nekkie my sweet, its your head and you have to live with it. You're sexy as hell no matter what. He'll get used to it if you wanna keep it that way. And if not, he'll probably get I told you soish.

A Haircut: the road to female enpowerment

My hair used to be WAY long, about to my waist. Everyone told me either that it was the most gorgeous hair they'd ever seen, or that I was getting too old for such girlish long, straight locks. When they were about halfway down my back, I became smitten with a young man who loved long hair, and so I grew it even longer.

When he and I had a very violent, painful breakup, I cut off two and a half feet of hair; two haircuts in less than a week. And instead of the jet-black he swooned over, I dyed it a warm cinnamon red.

I cried the first few days. I'd look in the mirror and startle myself. My friends were critical and my aquaintences more than surprised-- profs on campus didn't recognize me. But eventually, compliments started. I was so used to all kinds of gushing accolades for my hair.. But this time the compliments were for ME. "Have you lost weight?" "You have such lovely eyes.." "Wow, you've got great cheekbones."

Now, people who love long hair tell me I look better with it short. But I think the thing is.. For women, anyway, cutting off lengths and lengths of hair can be a truly empowering thing. A way to say "This is MY body and MY image and I will be what I will be, whether anyone else likes it or not."

In my case it was getting rid of my Christopher hair. And you know what? When it was long, all I ever did was wash and brush it. I get up earlier now and blowdry and style it, use all kinds of funky hair products I didn't even know existed. (I wear makeup now too, but that's neither here nor there.) Since my hair is this way because -I- want it to be, I take better care of it.

I personally would die without my hair now, I could NEVER go short, well no shorther than at least my shoulders.

I have to say though that it Does come down to how you like your hair not how your man likes it. If it takes forever to do in the morning then is it really worth having the hair that you have??? I mean what man wants to wait around all morning for you to do your hair, only to worry everythime the wind blows it out of place?? I'll stick to my long hair because it's easy if need be to just pull it back and keep it out of the way ... also the fact that I love having my hair pulled during sex ... TMI Right?

I don't care too much about the relative lengths of hair (as long as its well managed), but I do find myself especially attracted to these two extremes:

1) Really short hair. I particularly like a cut that is about 1/8 of an inch on the sides/back and spiked up on the top about an inch or two.

2) Really long hair-- mid-back or even waist length. Nuff' said.

I love E.G.s hair. It's not as long as it once was. It now resides about shoulder length and is really curly/wavey and has chestnut auburn red highlights. I love it. It does have weasels in it when she wakes up, watch out when they attack. When hair goes bad film at 11.
