The Loose Thread Thread

When I say "If i see a loose thread I feel compelled to give it a tug." I am usually referring generically to my every day compulsive curiosity.

And we all know that curiosity killed the cat.
So that's the first three groups of variations:

• a catgirl story
• a story featuring an actual cat as a plot ploy.
• in the literary usage, the curiosity being the inciting incident for some dram or even tragedy

Second angle is that i may have recalled the saying in a Lit context. not sure if I've ever said it in a post, but what often drives me to attempt a sequel to what was conceived as a one off freestanding story is noticing a loose end left behind. I might even on occasion have left that thread dangling in case i wanted to revisit the characters or their world.

Third angle is a story involving sewing or knitting as a theme or plot device.

Thoughts about tugging on these loose threads?

Definitely. I leave a loose thread in every stand alone story I do. Especially now that I'm publishing outside of Lit for the occasional dollar or two.
Because when I come up with a new idea, I like to bounce it against my roster of lusty characters and settings to see if it could create a sequel.
I would think that any decent writer would to the same.

Admittedly I’m thinking of A sillier idea:

Woman lives with a catgirl who is very curious about everything. MC is getting ready for a date and catgirl notices a loose thread on her dress. Only she doesn’t warn her or look into it immediately, she plucks at it right as date arrives, which somehow perfectly turns her dress into tatters

so what's your loose thread idea?

In my case, in my story Lust in Bloom, I introduced a young man to be an older woman's plus one in what turned out to be aphrodisiac-fueled orgy. While there he's with this amazing BBW and she reminds him of a woman at his college that he's had his eye on and swears that as soon as he gets home he's going to ask her out.

The older BBW is hot to see him again at the end of the story and when he mentions he's hoping to have a GF soon, she suggests bringing the prospective GF with him when he returns.

I've been very tempted to revisit those characters and I probably will.
