Chloe had always love the sea she was respectful of the life under the sea and even sometimes longed to be down there, being free in the sea, to swim all the way down to the farthest depth but she knew it was impossible. Her heart was in the sea, she had no idea that below was a life no one knew about, mer people that were half human half fish. Sadly up above the sea got choppy and Chloe was trying very hard to control her little sail boat. Sadly she was a mile away from the shore but she was thrown off from the boat and because the ocean drug her down she was trying so hard to get out from under but couldn't but she saw something swim right up to her, but because she was drowning her eyes rolled back as she blacked out, having no idea that a merman was helping her, she had no idea what the hell was going on. If only she knew that a kingdom of species older then time below, part of her could since arms around her, but when her brown eyes opened up she wasn't in the water, she started to spit up sea water and finally came around seeing someone beside her.

"Who...where?" She slowly sat up groaning as her head was spinning.

Although Torque was in line to be king one day; he had never fit in with the Mer people colony, being a rebel almost from the time he was born. Mer people normally stayed in their colony, but Torque was an explorer. Most Mer people would never leave the water, but Torque wanted to know everything about everything. He had crawled onto land a few times. (He does not yet know that he can transform into a human shape.) Breathing air on land through his mouth was not at all like underwater breathing through gills.

The shock of his life came when he saw people with no tails, but even stranger was they talked with their mouths – not their minds. When a floating thing came close to the land, he tried to mindspeak to one of the people. It was a wasted effort.

On one particular day, Torque noticed a small floating thing with a female. The Mer females did not cover their breasts, and he wondered why this female did. He watched the boat for awhile as well as the birds floating over the water.

A loud scream caught his attention. The little floating thing was empty. He pushed off the land with his arms and slid into the water. His powerful tail propelled him quickly through the water. Within a short while he saw the female, who was thrashing in the water. How can she not know how to swim?

He flipped his tail even faster and came up alongside her. He gathered her in his arms and pushed upwards with his tail, so that his arms went above the floating thing. He placed her inside while he stayed in the water. His tail might scare her to death.

She realized she was back on her boat and did not know exactly what was going on, but she saw someone with her, she could only see his top half and smiled weakly. "You saved me?" it was a mix of asking and knowing since her mind was all over the place, she looked at him and was curious how the hell he was even out there. She smiled at him "Thank you for saving my life" She said with a smile and looked at him. "My name is Chloe" She said softly showing how grateful she was by kissing the side of his face.

Torque flushed. When Mer people kissed, it was a serious thing. “You are welcome, Chloe. My name is Torque. I was just hanging about when I saw you fall off this floating thing. You thrashing about in the water made me think you didn't know how to swim. If you want to learn to swim, I can teach you.”

She saw him blush and was curious but hearing what he said she sighed "No I can swim, it's just that the sea is violent and for some strange reason I was being pulled down" She said simply and was looking around "How are you just around were about a mile or two from shore" She was curious who he was, this Torque however was kinda cute.

Torque smiled at Chloe's question and answered, “Oh, I just like hanging about; nothing else to do you know, except maybe catch sharks.

“So, why you out here all alone?”

She sighed softly grabbing a blanket that was beside her and wrapped up in it "I am out sailing I got a new boat and haven't done this since I was a child" She said happily. "I feel most at peace when I am out here, wondering what's down below, seeing the pure water and creatures that live within it, I was told a long time I had the heart of a mermaid, don't know what that means but yeah" She chuckled.

Torque looked at Chloe in a different way; he'd been hearing voices in his head but couldn't make sense of them. Was it possible?

Chloe's ears twitched when he asked himself that question.

Using mindspeak, Torque asked, Chloe, can you hear me?

Chloe tilted her head and did not know what was going on "What?" She said simply looking at him and knew it was him. "How is this possible?" She said sotly unsure what was going on.

Torque was surprised as well. “Mer people use mindspeak under water. What I don't understand is how you could be one of our people without gills.”

She sat up closer "Mer people?" She looked over and saw color around him and began to wonder she was unsure what to say to him.

Torque grinned. “Oh, yeah, I forget to add I'm a Mer man.” He lifted his tail high in the air and flicked water in Chloe's face. “And my people say I'm naughty.” He laughed.

She saw his tail and was surprised, she looked at him and reached under the water feeling his tail it was incredible, she stopped touching his tail and was curious what it was that connected him to her

Torque's face turned a shade of red. “When a Mer man and Mer woman have sex, the female always gets pregnant. I've never had sex because I'm not ready to be a father. I need sex so bad, I could eat snails.

“Chloe, I believe no tail means you would not get pregnant. Wow! I can't believe just blurted all that.”

Torque scratched his head. “I never heard that. I've never tried to change my tail to a human form. Not sure it's even possible, so if I can make that transformation, you will have sex with me, right? I know you are going to say yes. I can see it written on your face. You know you wanna. “Oh joy, oh joy,” Torque declared. He spun his tail hard and went spinning into the air, doing a back flip before landing in the water. He gripped the sides of the boat and pulled up into it.

He sat there with a grin. “I really do not know how to change a tail to legs. Do you have an idea how to do it?”

Looking at him she was surprised because here he was not kowing the myths of the merpeople she looked around " when the tide is low which is in a few minutes it will feel natural as long as you stay above the surface
