I'm new and if I'm doing this wrong just let me know.
I had no real expectations when I walked into the tavern that warm breezy late spring evening. It had been a long day in a strange town, and I was exhausted, after sitting through many hours of boring useless meetings. All I wanted was a couple of drinks and perhaps a movie in my room later, where I hoped to sleep off the weariness and bad attitude.
As I took a seat at near end of the bar, my attention was drawn to the far end. Her yellow hair and reddish complexion rose from the counter top like the morning sun, as her sparkling cobalt eyes rested briefly on mine. For the first time today, things became interesting.
