When the library became untethered it had cast her into the mortal world again. It had taken her a couple of weeks to fully appear and now she was in something the library had told her was an annex and that she had friends there. She was walking around getting used to such a small "library" waiting to see who would arrive.

Stone walked in seeing her standing there walking around studying the Annex and no one else around. Who was she and how did she get in there? He was about to confront her with Jenkins stopped him quickly and pulled him off to the side.

I do not know how it is possible or why but the Library sent her to us.

Jenkins was clearly a little disturbed or distracted by this woman's presence like he knew her or something.

What like another letter so what we have another Librarian?

Oh heavens no. She...

Flynn's voice cuts in as he and the others move to stand next to Jenkins and Stone.

She is the library's Guardian...Actually the first Guardian of the Library.

Cassandra looked confused.

I thought the Librarians were the guardians of the Library?

Jenkins shook his head. The librarians are the ones that find the artifacts for the Library The guardians keep the librarians in line and She is the Library's Guardian.

Yes so how is she here Jenkins?

Flynn tried to ask as Jenkins looked to him with a shrug and she answered him.

I am here because the Library seems to feel that I need to be in the realm of mortals once more and since it sent me here to the Annex and Jenkins as you call him I can only imagine that the library feels that the Librarians require or will require my assistance.

She was standing behind them startling even Baird who tried to throw a punch out of gut reflex only to have her fist caught by the woman.

Eve Baird... Guardian... Yet there are 4 Librarians and 1 guardian and all 4 have survived well Mind, body and soul. I see the library and I chose well.

Glancing to the woman and young man standing next to Eve.

Cassandra... you have made an amazing Librarian for one so young. Ezekiel... You remind me of... a long lost memory... It is good to see that you have grown past your original path in life.

Turning a little she smiled looking at Flynn and Stone

Jacob Stone... The library again made a very impressive selection with you just as it did with Flynn.

Stone smiled feeling honored to be compared to Flynn and that this strange woman knew his name.

Hello Flynn Don't worry... I know what happened to Excalibur. It was time. Even if the serpents had not gotten a hold of it He would have passed in his own way.

Flynn and Jenkins both seemed to straighten up standing taller than normal

Lynessa. Its good to see you again.

Flynn bowed slightly to her as she nodded.

Cassandra was studying her as it seemed she knew all of them but they had no idea who she was.

You have questions Librarian's Then let us go sit down and I will answer what I feel you are able to know.

A smirk played over her lips as she looked to Jenkins again and looked as if she was trying sort out his name compared to what she always knew him to be.

I answer to Jenkins now Lynessa. Far different times call for a far different name and it...

It adds even more distance... I understand... Jenkins. Though I do hope you are still keeping with your amazing teas yes?

With a smile and a slight bow and hurried off saying

Right away and Lynessa it is truly good to see you again old friend

Jacob looks at the woman 'she has the look'. Her eyes are both haunting and bedroom. Jacob had met several women with bedroom eyes. And several that were haunting. She is different than any woman he had met before. Jenkins had called her Lynessa. Jacob thought on that. 'Lynessa- Welsh and English.' And then as if thunderstruck it hit him. The meaning of Lynessa is "nymph; idol". That explains the eyes. He smiles to himself. A new understanding dawn on him. Jenkin was from a different time. His knowledge is timeless. And he had said 'old friend'.

Then if Jenkins is close to timeless and he considers Lynessa an old friend that would make her close to timeless. And the Library wants an ancient nymph as a guardian. Jacob smiles to himself at the thought. The guardians are protectors. As Alexander is a protector of men. Lynessa would be the protector of the Library. And since she was also a nymph; that would make the 'Library' a dirty old man. Well maybe old man did not fit too well. Though the thought has some merit. He could not shake that thought of an old coot in a wheelchair being pushed around by a young gold digger.

Then again, he considered. The word idol. A image worshipped as a god: a greatly loved and admired person or thing. So, we have a greatly admired idol. That would explain Jenkins's referring to her as 'an old friend' and one to be admired, interesting. So to continue, the ibrary Lis bringing in a 'old friend' to protect itself. Why now? It has been going through some unstable times of late. Jacob looks at Lynessa and smiles. Lynessa had been brought in to right the ship through these unsettled waters. It all fits!

STONE!

Baird called out as the other sat down to have some tea and learn of their mystery guest. Eve Baird was still impressed that this woman had caught her fist like she had. Cassandra as usual was rattling off info facts and questions so fast a super computer would have a hard time.keeping up and Flynn and Jenkins seemed equal parts happy to see her and concerned that the library had sent her.

BAIRD!

Jacob replies with equal enthusiasm. "Hail, hail the gang is all here! And it seems we have a new guest in our mitts. And Jenkins adds a new chess piece to the board." And one he seems to know. Cassandra goes in to, her data driven song and dance. Flynn looks a bit annoyed and saddened by his lost, of his favorite artifact Excalibur. He sits and slowly sips his tea. While he feels it good to have a new Guardian he is concerned that she would try and dictate to him what he should be doing. Although it is early yet, let's see where this all leads.

How do you know Gala... Jenkins?

Cassandra caught herself after her curiosity was able to slow down.

So they know who you are old friend?

Jenkins nodded... Serpent Brotherhood was headed by...

She held up a comforting hand to his cheek.

I know... So they...

She paused as if listening to something only she can hear. The library feels they are capable of knowing who I am...

Greeting Librarians and Guardian I am Lynessa... Daughter of Merlin.

Cassandra's questions were now hitting about warp speed as her supercomputer mind was trying to map out and sort out this new data.

So your mother was... Merlin's love sealed away on the other side of the wall of magic.

Lynessa nodded.

Yes.

Jacob take a sip of tea. "Are you sure you don't have any beer?" He pauses. "Let me see if I got this straight. King Arthur was a Roman or Roman-Brit. And the last of the Romans left in 409 B.C. And Merlin was the court wizard to Arthur. That would make Lynessa a Roman Idol and or nymph. Since Lynessa is a English/Welsh name she would not be Roman. So that makes her Roman Brit from the area of Wales. Oh this is getting good!"

Jacob stops and looks at Jenkins and smiles. "I think I got it. SO...the library is under threat of the Serpent Brotherhood and the Library has called on the daughter of Merlin to protect it self. Interesting!"

When the library chose to lose its tethers to the mortal world it sent me out. I am unsure fully as to why but perhaps its reasons will become. clearer in time.

She sipped the tea and smiled.

I am another little tie to the Library Aurtherian times.

Jacob places his teacup down gingerly. " So your saying that now that you have been recalled, the Library is trying to reconnect to the mortal world." He pauses a minute to look around the room. He then smiles. "A little tie?" He picks up his teacup and looks over the top at Lynessa. "I would say your more of a bridge to the Aurtherian times. With Jenkins at one end and you at the other. And now that you are here the bridge is complete."

No not recalled. And my ability to... Hear the library weakens slowly. It sounds distant now.

She sighed a little feeling in a way almost lost without hearing the library's "thoughts" perhaps.

Jacob raises an eyebrow as he listens to Lynessa. " You hear the library?"

Flynn places his teacup down. "Well yes actually. We all hear the library in our own way."

Cassandra adds. "Oh, the library speaks to me in many ways. It feeds me with data that adds to my knowledge."

Jenkins walks over to the large book of clippings. The book is open and a new clipping appears. " And this how the Library speaks to me."

Ezekiel raises up and walks over to the book. " Any thing for me? Is there something I can steal?"

She smirks at Flynn.

Some are less inclined to listen to the Library when it tells them to relax aren't they Eve?

The library tells you about all of us, doesn't it?

She nods looking to the book a brow raised at Ezekiel.

Stealing in the name of the library...

Oh... Oh yeah... Always...

Ezekiel stammered and nodded. She read the clipping and studied the book as well a little once they were all done reading it. There was a comforting yet puzzling thought lurking in her mind that she couldn't fully put her finger on yet about why she was no longer in her home within the library.

Jocob smiles. " I guess we all relate to the library in our own way." He picks up his teacup and looks over the top."

"I mean we all relate to the library. We all work together to reach a common goal, we for the most part."

He lifts his head and looks toward Jenkins. "And where would we be if Jenkins did not open doors for us?"

He pauses and looks at Lynessa. "So, Lynessa... Daughter of Merlin from the Aurtherian times. What is your mission?

She studied the book for a moment looking at the article. She paused looking up from the book.

When did the average mortal suddenly be able to make magical artifacts? And what is this? It would appear that the child has a window into the past of some kind through that tv. I thought Judson was the only one who could affect tvs and such?
