Check it doll, therapy has to get into the icky stuff before it gets better. Stick with it for now, even if it hurts and you think it's not working and it's really, really uncomfortable.

I have sat opposite my therapist several times and told him to go straight to hell, that his methods suck and that I don't think I could ever heal. He just sat there with me. Mired in it, and let me feel my way out. It takes time. Give it time.

I'm not going to coddle you, or give you hugs, or lend you strength. You're stronger than you think you are, and you're amazing. Now, put in the work to be the person you want to be.

I know you can do this.

Thank you, beauty. Sincerely and truly...thank you. I keep forgetting that you know a bit about this, as do I...but NOT from this POV, you dig? I am just tired of this weight and it gets heavier, not lighter.

Two down, I don't know HOW many more to go...and I am tired.
 
The only thing I would add to that is that, if you're just not meshing with the therapist, it's okay to make a change there. It's just like any other relationship, you're not always going to work well with someone. But if that's not the case, then she's right, you just need to stick with it. CBT isn't always easy, but it does help.

It's not the therapist, it's the issue. Gender dysphoria is only the tip of this particular iceberg. *shrugs*

Ima do the work because not doing it would leave me feeling even worse than I do now, with no respite in sight. Plus Twin might be willing to paddle my ass next time I see her if I DON'T pull it together.
