Oh wait, they've lost two in a row, they looked un-Laker-like losing to the Spurs, let Allan Houston drop 50+ on them, fall a game behind the Rockets for the 8th seed making Tuesday's game almost a must win for them.

Oops.. Maybe they aren't back.

Oh and by the way Shazzam has admitted he is one very hurt man and is taking an anti-inflammatory that may help his toe and knee, but bothers his stomach.

We all remember how well the Lakers did without Shaq the first time right?

And one now has to wonder how well Kobe will do now with a pair of bad knees as well... He tried like hell to carry the Lakers to the win, but when your supporting cast includes the likes of Samaki Walker and Robet "Don't call me Will Smith" Horry.. well the result speaks for itself.

Yes, the Lakers may make the playoffs.. but how beat up will they be when right off the bat in the first round they have to face one of the three top seeds in a seven game series?

Interesting thing is the Kings have more lost games per man than any team in the league and still play well. I'd like to see them healthy all at once.

The Kings have lost more games per man than the Raptors? This I didn't know. I thought the Raps had everyone beat in that department.

Jeeze I work right across the street from the Staples Center... Let some other city host the damm parade and all the foolishness for once... the problem is really losing Chick Hearn...

while losing chick was a great tragedy. the laker's woes lay the lack of a third offensive weapon. being strapped financially they cannot really afford to trade for a scorer. failing to sign any free-agents this past off season will probably cost them the playoffs this year. too BAAAAAAAAAAD!!!

LOL.. I am not crying either... I love my city... I just don't happen to care much for the Lakers... Now when Jerry West was playing, when Kareem was playing, when Magic was playing I cared... Hell I even liked Kurt Rambis... ;)

I remember going to the Fourm to see the Lakers play the Harlem Globetrotters
as well as a few other teams I was there the night Jerry West shot a basket from 3/4 of a court away from the basket

now I am a Phoenix Suns Fan :D

I live in Arizona now
Since 1977

Oh yeah they're back.

Back to the same sack-of-crap team they were for most of the first half of the season.

:D

That game when West hit that shot was so fucking unreal-they ended up losing to the Knicks in OT-I kived in SoCal then 68 or so...

Mr Clutch-Jerry was my idol growing up
Zeke from Cabin Creek....

I gotta admit, the Lakers looked good tonight...

Mark Madsen? The horrid as hell dancing freek?? Where the hell did he come from? Nice to see he can step up, unlike Sumaki Walker. And Kobe was well.. Kobe. Just another 50+ thankyouverymuch.

Funny thing is though it's only a tie for a playoff spot.. they still don't own one outright. But the Lakers showed me something tonight. Then again so did the Rockets.. they had this game if they wanted it.

Too bad the big Shazzam has to take care of injuries during company time... Makes you think doesn't it? If Kobe is doing this well on his own, do they really need Shaq and his fat ass and fat contract?

It won't last. I have been saying all along they should have fined Shaq for not getting that toe fixed earlier in the off season. You make umpteen millions for being a man who plays a childs game, you would think he would have planned ahead.

Problem is Shazzam DID plan ahead:

“Since I suffered the injury on company time, why shouldn't I also be able to get surgery and do recovery on company time?"

~ Shaq

No wonder Yao got voted in as an all-star starter. It's easy to see that even in his rookie year Yao Ming has more heart than Shaq.

Yes.

Kobe can strap the Lakers on his back and beat a pretty good share of teams, but not the Dallases, San Antonios and Sacramentos of the world four times out of seven.

The only way the Lakers even have an offense is through Shaq being a menace in the paint, Kobe driving and creating, and the role players knocking down open shots when defenses double down on Shaq or Kobe. Without O'Neal, a vital part of that is lost. If Kobe has to put up 50+ every game for the next three months, he'll fall apart.
