Slavery had a heritage that began before the new world and continues in Africa today. Would the Native Americans joined the confederate cause? Who knows, they were driven out under old glory 30 years before. Maybe we should ban the American flag.
And the Canadian flag. Blacks were enslaved there also.
Now, I read this as a subtle shot at me and my posts on that thread but I think this is what bugs me so much. That he's trying to make some snarky point that he probably thinks is real smart and witty with complete disregard for the facts.
First as to the specific point. The Canadian Flag has been around since the early 1960's. I don't think we've had slaves in the last 40 years.
But as to the specific point. Canada has only been a Country since 1867(Actually, 1934 is closer to the truth) and we didn't have slaves in 1867. There has never been a slave owned in my Country. Don't try to pass your Countries bad deeds onto mine.
