The Isolated Political Blurt Thread

"Prominent Problems In The Present Ideological Sphere That Merit Attention", from Chinese Communist Party's Document No. 9

1. Propagating Western constitutionalist democracy. Attempting to deny the present leadership and to deny the political system of Socialism with Chinese characteristics.

2. Propagating “universal values”, attempting to shake the ideological and theoretical basis for Party rule.

3. Propagating civil society, attempting to deconstruct the social basis for Party rule.

4. Propagating neoliberalism, attempting to change our country’s basic economic system

5. Propagating Western news views, challenging our country’s principle that the Party manages the media and its press and publications management system.

6. Propagating historical nihilism, attempting to deny the history of the Chinese Communist Party and the history of the New China.

7. Challenging reform and opening up, challenging the Socialist nature of Socialism with Chinese characteristics.

President Obama spent his time asking people to be thoughtful, caring, helpful, and charitable-

President Obama brought up the subjects of The Crusades, slavery, and The Inquisition.

*gsgs comment- What I heard, were the words of caution and awareness. I heard a warning about misusing religion.

Part of President Obama's speech-

"Lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place," the president said, "remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ. In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often was justified in the name of Christ.”

We heard Star Parker throw a pity party for The Far Right religious.

Star Parker did not like what President Obama had to say.

Star Parker's words -

"It was verbal rape. Frankly, what the president did was verbal rape,” Parker said. “He stole all the energy in the room. He stole from all of us. He stole the momentum in the room, he stole from our country, he stole from the world.”

Explaining that those in the room had already been dealing in what she called weak interfaith “sippy soup,” Parker said Obama “reduced that whole meeting to meaninglessness.”

“This is what we were doing in this room, all this prayer, all these people, and then the president gets up and totally politicizes it,” she said. “It was verbal rape. You could feel the energy leave the room because he is so adamant about his secular humanism. These are certainly big questions, but he reduced that whole meeting to meaninglessness. It was just bad.”

What is it that Star Parker would rather hear ?

She is just another voice that supports the Koch directives-
No abortion
No birth control
No public assistance
No Obamacare
No evolution, creation theory only

No freedom under Liberal, Democratic leaders- More freedoms under Republican leaders-

"Republican freedoms as the freedom to be mortally wounded in a back-alley abortion gone wrong; the freedom to be incarcerated for trivial offenses thanks to the ridiculous and ineffective War on Drugs; the freedom to be denied treatment by the “best health care system in the world” because you can’t afford it; the freedom to be killed by gun violence in a society that refuses to regulate gun ownership; or the freedom to sacrifice your life, limbs, and sanity in unnecessary wars of aggression dreamed up by rich white men who never served their country when they were young and had opportunities that you’ll never have."

Someone is watching and observing-

Star Parker praises and defends Walmart. Other people, observe the destruction that Wal-Mart leaves behind in its wake.-

"...taxpayers who subsidize Wal-Mart’s inadequate wages are completely free to retain that portion of their income from the Internal Revenue Service and various state taxing agencies. And they were equally free to instruct their state and local governments to refrain from giving Wal-Mart direct subsidies to assist in the construction of its facilities across the country. In Sharon Springs, NY, local taxpayers surely didn’t mind that Wal-Mart made a deal with an industrial development agency in which the agency would hold the title to the land used for a distribution center, thereby saving Wal-Mart an estimated $46 million in property taxes. Demonstration at Lakewood Wal-MartResidents of Lakewood, Colorado must have freely chosen to allow Wal-Mart to pay a reduced rate of sales tax at a new Supercenter and could not possibly have objected when the company unexpectedly closed an existing store and deprived the municipality of hundreds of thousands of dollars of expected income budgeted for essential services. (Wal-Mart advocates complaining that D.C. has pulled a “bait and switch” need to be careful not to remind policymakers what to expect from the company itself.)

Why do very religious Conservatives use falsehoods, when it is a against one of the basic rules of their religion ?

"There is a tendency in us, a sinful tendency, that can pervert and distort our faith,” President Obama said at the breakfast.

"...Under no circumstances can anyone demand that any member of an economically determined society, whose order in the economic domain is based upon rational procedures, sacrifice his life in the interest of rational operations...to demand seriously of human beings that they kill others and be prepared to die themselves to that trade and industry may flourish for the survivors or that the purchasing power of grandchildren may grow is sinister and crazy. It is a manifest fraud to condemn war as homicide and then demand of men that they wage war, kill and be killed, so that there will never again be war."

Congressman John Lewis, what a fine and brave gentleman.

Moving from the general to the specific, Obama referred to the jihadists who committed last month’s massacres in Paris as “a bunch of violent vicious zealots,” who “randomly shot a bunch of folks in a deli in Paris.”

Another take on the matter.

"..The key to its [ie power struggles between 19th c. European states] controllability--as Bismarck, who managed it with unparalleled mastery between 1871 and 1889, knew--was the deliberate restriction of objectives. So long as states were in a position to define their diplomatic aims precisely--a given shift in frontiers, a dynastic marriage, a definable "compensation" for the advances made by other states--both calculation and settlement were possible....But the characteristic feature of capitalist accumulation was precisely that it had no limit. The 'natural frontiers' of Standard Oil, the Deutsche Bank, the deBeers Diamond Corporation, were at the end of the universe...."
