The wee boy woke early this morning, and the two of us are having a magical time.
We stoked the coals and fed the belly of the wood stove, started the smoker, and made some coffee.

We put the rubbed porky beast into the smoker, slipped on our wellies, and had a little walkabout. Spent about an hour teaching him how to skip smooth, round, flat stones on the still water, while the pup chased the squawking crows, sending them to higher perches.

After breakfast we are all going to paint the paper mâché lanterns the kids made, that they'll hang along the drive and deck, for when our company arrives, later.

I'm not sure who is enjoying Spring Break more, the kids or us.

These are days.. :)

Beautiful Saturday, drive damp from early morning showers, sun like a kiss through the scattered clouds; there's a puppy barking in the kitchen.
:D:heart:

there's a dog on the hill again
well, he's a bit of growing still to do, but i'm so chuffed about the pup :D

now that sounds a wonderful start to the day!

i've not done very much at all yet today, and online shopping's beinng a chore where this silly laptop keeps freezing up as i'm checking out dresses

It is easier for kids to skip rocks. Lower to the water, flatter trajectory. I almost have to kneel to skip rocks like I could as a kid.

I'm not utterly clueless. In my youth, sure, most definitely, but these days? No. It's that my approach toward women is not unlike the attitude I hold toward my cats: unless they make a clear and direct declaration that they request/demand my attention or affections I leave them the hell alone.

the knee got worse so i had to go to another dr - this time i chose one that does sports injuries

he let me know what was really wrong with my knee (Patellar tendinitis) and told me what was done previously was kind of bad because it was making me worse as they were focusing on the top of my knee

so he changed the meds i am on, set up physical therapy, and let me know that when this is better, i will need to wear a strap before going running

what gets me is i kept telling everyone that it had to be the bottom of my knee but i was just told that no, that the top of the knee is where one must focus on

Too bad you have to pay doctors that don't listen.

he thinks once the higher doses of the meds kick in that should relieve most of the swelling and pain

wish i could get my money back
..
lawsuit, should be easy to find a lawyer in Jersey willing to work on it for 40%

We just met over the internet in less than 24 hours and you want me to spend the night at your place?? Wow, I didn't know I appeared to you as dumb and irresponsible.

It's truly amazing, how some people expect others to just do what THEY want.... ;)

Like, were we born YESTERDAY?

Yep. Apparently this guy expected me to spend the night at his place only after a few short conversations. Sorry, my father taught me better than that. I'm never THAT comfortable with anyone I just met seconds or 24 hours ago.

Never knew my tits were that awesome. :D

They are, but that wasn't the issue... :D :p

Good for you. I always go to sports medicine doctors when I have a muscle or skeletal issue. All-purpose orthopedists tend to see things in terms of couch potatoes and geriatrics (their usual sort of patient). I've found sports orthopods to be much better informed.

Anecdata: I had a rare sharp pain in my knee some years back. Sports doc immediately figured out that the issue was in my left hip, and my left knee was overcompensating for a hip injury. I had no idea!
