The Isolated Blurt Thread XXXII: Drunk enough that Paul Ryan seems a stand-up fellow

The yearly winter fuels outlook report from the U.S. Energy Information Administration finds higher fuel prices and a colder weather forecast than last year will add up to an increase in heating costs.

NPR's Jeff Brady reports natural gas prices have a particularly big effect because nearly half of American households rely on it for heat:

"The Energy Information Administration projects gas bills will rise more than 20 percent. Your overall bill will depend on where you live. The agency reports that an entire winter's worth of natural gas heating for the average home will be $635.

"In the Northeast it will be nearly $900 [because] pipeline bottlenecks have pushed up prices in the region. Gas is still the cheapest fuel to heat with. Electricity costs about a third more [and] heating with oil or propane is expected to cost at least twice as much as natural gas this winter."

I love heating with gas. I used to heat with wood and gas is actually cheaper, and much more convenient

A superb piece that I commend to your attention:
Fossil Fuels: Abundant, Chemically Stable, Energy-dense

As you likely know, the natural gas (and petroleum and coal) industry has always been characterized by extreme cyclicality. In the U.S., with 94 rigs drilling for natural gas, prices cannot— and will not— stay this low forever. Even now, as the original post relates, NG prices have risen off their lows. Whether that price rise is entirely attributable to seasonality is anybody's guess.

The crackpot green idiots and the CO2 Klimate Krazies would prefer that you freeze to death.

Ax not what your country can do for you, ax who you can for your country.

I bet she ate her own cooking.

*ducks*
She's got bad aim, so ducking increases the chance of the deserved shoe to the head.
And NN is not sick.

Bingo

I've made the executive decision to work from deep under my covers on this blustery day.
Good choice.

Confession: I have never been drunk enough to be attracted to a man. Paul Ryan or otherwise.
