This. I like the winter, but I'm still quite a wimp in the extreme cold.

I like to fantasize about being snowed-in at a remote place, with just the right people, and a fireplace, and good food.

I thought Australians only used them as slippers? They are lethal in ice. But I find ok in rain.

Where besides LL bean is good to look for for flannel sheets? Flannel sheets are really plain in UK and often not very good quality. I can get some shipped to my in laws and brought over as a gift but they know nothing about keeping a home.

I saw a girl fall on her ass on Pier 39 in San Francisco. That wet wood was just too slippery for the soles.
