I'm not sure what this is about but this is pretty much a universal complaint. Thank you for speaking for us.

I watched The Overnight last night. Pro: Jason Schwartzman's schlong. And the con, of course, being lack of lesbians.

nothing about this sentence makes any sense...

speak american, chippy! :)

not at all! done it with pork and with beef, now trying it with the chicken.

mix the thai paste with the coconut milk, throw in some chopped onion (either spring onion or red or even leek) and marinade the meat for a few hours or overnight.

add all teh veggies (cut into bite-sized pieces for the potato), some milk to make sure there's enough fluid, and stick it in the oven on 150 for 2 hours or so...cooked the beef a little longer for tenderness. after the first hour and a half, add 3 or 4 dessert spoons of crunchy peanutbutter and 2 or 3 of the golden syrup. if i'd had the cashews, they'd have gone in at the start of the oven cooking.

just give it a bit of a stir around and baste as it cooks, and voila. fabulous.

i still might download it. i had to cut off my true blood marathon because i was getting bored of it. i need new movies. even mediocre ones will do.

at least until jessica jones comes out. then i hopefully won't need shit for awhile aside from maybe a week to rewatch daredevil.

i'll never understand why people think hot weather automatically equals more sex. the only thing i can come up with to make that nonsense make even a little bit of sense is that they've never lived without central air because i have and i gotta tell you when it's the fucking middle of july and it's hot and muggy there are weeks where the mere idea of even jerking it just makes you tired and groggy.

on the other hand, when it's cold out and there's nothing to do but sit inside and pray you don't suddenly remember that there's some reason you actually have to go into the nightmarish snow covered, windswept hellscape... well, you do the math. it aint rocket science, people.

That's an interesting way to do it! Also, peanut butter and golden syrup? I may just try that Chupa chup. :D

I love sultanas in curry.

My Sri Lankan girlfriend makes this incredible rice with sultanas in it, and this delicious salad with yoghurt. Good food.

Good for you! I'm struggling with finding good mechanical engineers in a few states to perform some big jobs. I guess I never had to deal with it before, keeping most of my work in town. I've been spoiled.

When you look to do work in Alaska, I will make some recommendations.

Do you have a Stantec office near you? They just swallowed up one of my clients but seem to be a decent firm and they kept all local employees.

I am unimpressed with Stantec. I still work with the same people locally that I did before Stantec took over, but they are notoriously slow, now. They also use out of state engineers to do some of the work. Perhaps for some stuff, it's more economical, but in the specific instance I remember, from last week, the engineer down south was going to give a presentation about my tech to a group of students, yet had no idea of exactly how things worked. Luckily, she was looking for a photo and I was able to get her that and a bit more.

Engineers like shiny objects. Lure them in with that.

And challenges. Nothing is more fun than projects that other people can't make work.

Had to wear a hard hat and high viz jacket today. Looked a right cunt.

Tell me when you are wearing an XL safety vest over your huge parka. Note that the parka hood should cover the hard hat.

I love them in curry too. And cous cous.

I can't believe this shit is news.

So ridiculous.

I absolutely agree! It's just so laughably stupid. My FB feed is filled with this, most calling it ridiculous.

It's a tiny group of people who made a mountain out of this molehill.

Now, I want Starbucks. And, later, curry.

Funny thing is I do not know nor have seen anyone I know on social media giving a fuck about it.

I am starting to think that "tiny group" is just the media........

my first thought was that it was sbux themselves, greedily seeking out more publicity for themselves

it was an accident first time around with the pork (i'd let the beef go too long and didn't want to use it), and i think i used carrots and garlic and broccolli in there too. so, i wanted to do a curry, hadn't used the red thai paste before, just the green. i wasn't expecting the heat! so when i tasted it halfway through cooking, all i got was masses of heat, little flavour - so raided the cupboard for the crunchy p-nut butter and then added some honey. it calmed it down and then i could taste all these fab flavours going kapowie in my mouth! second time around, i used beef, but had run out of honey so used golden syrup instead, and used mushrooms in there too. still fab. so now i'm doing it with the chicken to see. the offspring preferred the pork, i preferred the beef, and the jury's out on the chicken till it's done.
