In Canada, Thanksgiving is in October. So the day after Halloween everyone puts their Christmas wreaths up. Yesterday, I saw live trees for sale.
I celebrate American Thanksgiving, so nothing goes up, until after that holiday.

The internet made it worse, but it was happening before the internet was involved. I remember my mother complaining at least 25 years ago that Christmas stuff was going out too early and Thanksgiving was getting ignored.

Yeah, this. Every year since the end of the '80s, the encroach and reach of holiday commercialism spread out wider and wider and wider. Even Valentine's Day shit is put out immediately after New Year's Day. July 4th prep stuff starts at the beginning of June.

I basically sit most major holidays out now. Kinda jaded.

I spend as little time in stores as I can, and that helps. I won't decorate for Christmas until the first weekend in December at the earliest, though it's been much closer to the actual day the last several years. I do what I can to ignore the constant bombardment.
