It was a tough go firing two employees back in 1981. They deserved it but still I fretted a bit. It was a remote site and they needed to be flown out the next morning, asap. But damn, once they were gone, the work went smoothly and everyone patted me on the back for doing the deed. I have no regrets.

Blitzkrieg virus.

Thirty-six hours of hell starting with a raw throat. It was so bad that at one point there was blood and I wasn't sure I could stand the pain. The hacking has eased up a bit and the green phlegm has commenced. I've lost three pounds and there's a small mountain of used Kleenex in the bin.
