Portraits challenge what it means to be LGBT

These are just some of the many ways members of the LGBT community identify themselves in a beautiful photo series from San Francisco-based photographer Sarah Deragon.

Deragon’s “The Identity Project” has taken her around the country as she “seeks to explore the labels we choose to identify with when defining our gender and sexuality.” Her portraits show the amazing diversity and vibrance of a queer community that for too long has been defined by outsiders.

Have you ever been so busy and involved in everything that you've had to make a list of things to do the following day each night before bed?

That's what I do every night. I haven't had time to party or go out lately. I get up, I go to work, I make time to organize other things while I'm there. During my lunch break etc. And then I go to my appointments and I come home and make more phone calls and shower and make a note of all the things I should do the following day. And then I sleep.

It really has been crazy hectic around here.

1. I was in a meeting all day today. At 9am a guy at the table took my pen. And I use a very particular type of pen... but I digress. The disgusting putz chewed on the pen all day long. At 5pm he asked me if I wanted the pen back. What's wrong with people???
