1. Today was in the mid-80s and not a cloud in the sky.
2. Calling for snow this weekend back at Savage Mountain.
3. Grill is put away, but the rotisserie is spinning a chicken.
4. Noisy kids are playing outside and annoying me.
5. The cat has been sleeping on my desk all day.

My Halloween costume idea got vetoed by my boys. Apparently I have to wear something gory and gruesome.

RUN to IMDB there's a trailer there! And it's called No Good Deed.

Ah, No Good Deed! Yeah, I saw trailers for that already! That already came out over here, I keep forgetting you get these a month or so later.

Didn't see it, but it looked pretty tense, that one.

Aah yeah forgot. Weird cos Charlie Countryman opens here next week and I've had the dvd for months. Couldn't wait for Mads. ;)

Interesting that three very different productions left the same section out.

The radio serial omits the sequence in the book in which the hobbits visit Tom Bombadil. This sequence was also excised from Ralph Bakshi's 1978 animated adaptation and Peter Jackson film version.

I can see why. From a writing standpoint, its placement is problematic and it interrupts existing threads; it also resolves far too quickly and bears minimal impact on the surface arcs of the story. It's like if Chekhov had walked into the room with rifle already loaded, fired a round into the ceiling, and only then set the weapon, still smoking, onto the mantel.

that's because it's boring, pointless and it would completely destroying the pacing of the films or what have you.

Do you smell fall in the air there?

Sorta kinda. It's in the low 70's, and that's the coolest it's been all fall. If it weren't for the spectacular sunsets, I would think that it's still summer.

I'm envious. Though we have had some nice days, it's typical wet fall here. The only bonus is that I get to wear boys again!
