It is an absolutely striking image and a profound object lesson for those who espouse the benefits of a command economy.
I remember being so dumbstruck the first time I saw that image that I assumed it must be a photoshop job.

It's almost like the rest of the country is in the 19th century.
That side-by-side contrasting image may be the single most effective means
in all of human history to prove beyond any shadow of doubt why a
centrally-planned, totalitarian economy is a colossal, delusional mistake.
No, it's not. It's an effective means of showing a failed political system. It has nothing at all to do with an economic system.
