The Ed Sullivan Show was played by our local stations 2 weeks after the show was originally aired in order to have the tapes transported to Alaska. I remember a bit of the show. The Apollo 11 mission was the first ever live network TV broadcast to Alaska in 1969.

I remember the Apollo 11 broadcast. I was at over night camp. We didn't have a TV at home, so seeing TV at camp was a novelty.
The first year was the 6th day war, second no TV , the third year Apollo 11.
My dad had some equipment that went to the moon so I was interested.
I am not sure who in their right mind would let a bunch of kids at camp watch news on the 6th day war, esp as some of the counselors that we knew had gone to fight in it, but they did.

I was at my grandparents set net site for the Apollo broadcast. We caught bits and pieces between tending and mending the nets and other chores. I would of just been out of 9th grade.

One of my best friends got married this weekend. In Zambia. Without me. Which is as it should be, I suppose, but I always imagined I would be at that wedding, and that it would be a happy, happy reunion.

Someone I followed on YT has died from Covid. His widow just posted a very brave vid to let everyone know. Sounds like their insurance is trying to wriggle out of paying. :(
