First, it's not that you're not "smart enough" for science and math; it's just that your brain doesn't really travel in *that* direction. You're plenty smart, but not everyone is smart in all the possible directions.

This. I realized this years ago -you can't do everything- when I was dreaming in French, and carrying numbers adding 12 to 29.

I realize that comes off as arrogant. It was a major discovery, considering that according to my family I can't do anything.

Thanks to you and the others expressing similar sentiments the past few days. I'm updating here rather than starting another AW thread, simply because it's easier.

Got anesthesiology clearance this morning, and we consulted with the neurosurgeon this afternoon. The decision is to go ahead with the craniotomy, which will involve him removing a chunk of my skull while I'm out, then waking me up and poking around the mass a bit to determine exactly where it is and what parts of my brain it's affecting, and how. Then he'll remove as much of it as is safe, I'll spend a couple more days in the hospital for recovery and observation, etc., then, if all has gone to plan, head home.

I dunno if I'll be able to communicate to Lit even through my phone during the post-surgery time, but YK will update after the surgery Thursday and as appropriate afterward.

Again, and still, all good thoughts, vibes, prayers, etc., will be greatly appreciated.
