Summer colds totally suck. :/

I'm with you CC.

Last night was irony in action. See my throat was on fire, couldn't even swallow, I was also exhausted and needed sleep in a bad way. But...throat. The only thing that settled my throat enough to let me sleep was copious amounts of water, but with all that water I was up every fifteen minutes to pee, hence, no sleep.

The universe, it has a twisted sense of humour.

Four parts honey to one part vinegar, Dilute to taste. Most people use apple cider vinegar, but wine vins are good too-- give a different flavor. Crush mint leaves in it if the flavor seems too strange for comfort. You can drink it as an electrolyte restorative (It was the medieval Gatorade), and you can gargle it for sore throat, since both the honey and the vinegar are natural antibiotics.

Ya. Sound like total suckage! I opted for sucking on spoonfuls of raw honey and sipping on neat bourbon. Congestion prevented me from getting any decent sleep of course, but my throat did feel better. :D Working on the congestion this afternoon with a very spiced up curry noodle soup. Which is kinda what inspired my other blurt... Hot soup for lunch when the sky looks like THAT... Just ain't right. I prefer my hot soups on sweater friendly days. So yeah, graceanne, winter ones suck too but at least the soup experience is better.

Hope you feel better soon K!

What kind of idiot does a final walk-through of a house just hours before the closing is scheduled?

Thanks Stella! I will note this future reference. Throat was 99% better this morning and my neti-pot seems to be clearing things up nicely. But I sure could have used something last night.

Thanks CC and ditto. I know, hot soup in the summer? Blech. Thankfully, today is mostly just the fallout of lack of sleep. Other symptoms seem to be going away. Yay!

I hope everybody who's sick feels better really soon. :rose:

My blurt: Am I the only one who finds The Onion completely unfunny?

The guy who wants to be sure that the plumbing, the lighting fixtures, and the doorknobs haven't been removed by the seller.

*raises hand*

I find it's easier to tell people that I don't have a sense of humor, rather than try to explain that I don't think that shit is funny.

Oh, thank God.

I was afraid I was just too stupid to get why it was supposed to be so funny or something.

Close to CiC:
Thai hot & sour soup, and honey whiskey..
(the only whiskey I can drink!)
:D

Stating the obvious here:

Alzheimer's sucks! :(

My Mom is in the early stages, and seriously in denial. I just spent a week with here that was, in turns, exasperating, frustrating, annoying, hilarious, bizarre, heartwarming and heartbreaking. I see her slipping away, piece by piece, and I'm so frightened for her. She's on the other side of the country so there's nothing I can do in a pinch. Thankfully she has other family & friends nearby, so I know she's safe. I just dread the day when we have to sit her down and tell her she can't be in her own home anymore, and then the visits where she slips away more and more. (I did this with my ex-MIL so I know what's coming.) :(

OTOH I'm home after a week away, so at least I can cry on Master's shoulder and sleep in my own bed.

Hack. Cough. Hack. Sniff. Repeat.

I caught a summer cold somewhere. Maybe from this thread.

The only thing that helps to distract me is The Onion.

This is so hard. :rose:

Sounds like you had a good time!

I really should learn to let loose sometimes, too. :D

Well, we accidentally ended up with no kids and some extra money. We went out, cause how often does that happen? Even without any karaoke, we had a great time.

Thank you for not quoting in case drunk me is right and I need to delete tomorrow morning.

Cause sober me doesn't consider this stuff to be y'all's business.

Quick! Somebody quote it! It needs to live on in immortality.

It made me smile, too. I love when people are happy and want to share that.

I have lost my sense of humor. If anyone finds it, could they please return it to me as I am getting really tetchy without it.

Have you checked in those pretty green knickers? :rose:

Or in DGE's knickers? Heh! That image alone should bring your sense of humor running back posthaste! :D :D :D
