Oh yeah, I get you there. A big reason why I just don't bother watching them anymore - caught this one as L was scrolling through to something else. Anyway, I just felt they sunk to a new low today. I was thinking, 'Did we accidentally tune into 100 Huntley Street'?

In general, though, I have the impression that thinking about god somehow helps some people cope with tragedy. But clearly there is no expectation that this thinking will be logical in any way.

I guess that's the problem, I expect news organizations to employ some degree of logic, lol.

Because it is an accepted fact that God lives in the USA.

There's an obvious injustice inherent in any list of the people whom god allegedly helps, because of the implicit assumption that there are people he chooses not to help, and the related fact that really bad things happen to really good people on a regular basis.

Exactly. The whole 'plan' theory only has merit if you believe, otherwise it just reads like some imaginary, omnipotent sadist playing favourites.

God doesn't choose to not help someone, He just helps them in other ways. It's up to us to have our heart and mind open to His plan for us and then to use the talents He has given us. If we choose to ignore our innate talents then our unhappiness or perceived lack of talent is on us.

So, I sort of got offered a job as a secretary for my best friends husband. I'm torn. The pay is good, and it has good benefits. If I were to get this job (which is in no way for sure - he has to get approval from his boss and I have no formal job experience as a secretary), K could cut his hours so he can focus more on school. On the flip side, I wouldn't be home with the kids and K's not so great with them. Not to mention he couldn't get up on time to save his life, and I will get annoyed if they start arriving late to school cause of him. Plus, D is being home schooled next year, and that'd mean K has to take over a lot of that and if that happens I want K to go back on his ADHD meds.

So, to those who pray, if you'd pray for direction and wisdom for me, that'd be awesome. Thanks.
