The Ice Princess

With a splitting headache, she tried to rise and then fell quickly back to the couch. "Oh god what have I done." Linda sat there for a few more minutes and took the pills Ray gave her. "Thanks" He held her head up while she drank some water. Laying back down all she could think how she just blasted Ray for everything every man did to her.

With her eyes closed, she mustered up her self image and apologized. "I am sorry Ray. You didn't deserve that." A single tear ran from the corner of her eye. Linda's ice was cracked and there was nothing she could do about it.

Ray put a reassuring hand on her arm.

"It's ok. You obviously have been going through a lot lately, personally."

He knew she was now vunerable. The icy, cold exterior was gone. All that was left was a woman haunted by a horrible past with men.

When he saw her cry, it tore him up inside. He grabbed a tissue and handed it to her.

"Look I don't know what your ex-husband did to you, but you deserve alot better."

He sat on the couch next to her, trying to remind her that some men can be nice and comforting.

"Yeah, well you could have told him that on the phone today."; taking the tissue from him and wiping the tear away. Her exterior was gone and she hated it. No one, not even the colonel saw her this broken. To everyone she was the ice princess. One that never broke. Now she laid on this man's couch broken as can be.

"Please don't tell anyone you saw this side of me." She looked up at him from where she was laying. Feeling some comfort while he sat there with his hand on her arm. The first time in a long time she actually felt safe with another male around.

Ray smiled and nodded reassuringly.

"Your secret is safe with me."

Ray knew not many had seen Linda like this. He could tell it was very hard for her to be vunerable, especially a man after what had happened with her ex-husband.

"You should stay her tonight, sleep it off. Please take my bed, and I'll sleep out here."

He grabbed the extra blanket and pillow from the closet and put them beside the couch.

"No I couldn't. I will take the couch and you take your bedroom."; sitting up and picking up the blanket to throw over her. "It's bad enough I have gotten drunk, yelled at you, fainted, and now I am invading your quarters."

She was so uncomfortable in her work clothes, especially her stockings. Though she wasn't going to undress in front of him. It would have been too much after seeing her so broken.

Ray sat there and begin to argue with her regarding where they will be sleeping. "Ray, please I do not want to become the ice queen again. I insist." She gave a small smile when he held up her hands in defeat. Patting his hand Linda said thank you and tried to get comfortable on the couch.

Ray retired to his bedroom and changed into his nightclothes. He got into bed, but lay awake for a while. He kept thinking about Linda. For months, she had been this unbreakable shell. But all it took was for someone to reach out, and she melted. Ray liked the woman underneath. He eventually drifted off.

The next morning, he woke early. He checked on Linda, who was still asleep on the couch. He started on breakfast, taking bacon and eggs out of the fridge. He set about making two omelettes, hoping the noise and smell would wake Linda before he had to himself.

When Ray left, Linda tossed and turned on the couch. No matter what, she couldn't get comfortable on the couch. Thinking she was safe, she decided to semi undress. Taking off her thigh highs, skirt, and bra. Folding it nicely and setting it at the foot of the couch. Smiling that Ray actually in the other room, she wasn't alone. Drifting shortly after she laid back down.

The next morning she could hear stirring around her. Peeking out of one eye, Desiree saw Ray standing there cooking. It was when she was about to sit up that she remembered how she fell asleep. Well this is just great. How am I going to do this? Keeping her eyes shut, she decided to remain still and pretend she was asleep.

Ray plated up this bacon and omelette and brought a plate over to Linda. She seemed to be still asleep, so she set the plate down the coffee table and gentle shook her. When she woke, he smiled.

"Something to get you going for the day", indicating to the plate of food. I'm gonna go shower, but I'll be back out shortly."*

He smiled again before returning to his bedroom.

Linda brushed her hair back when she opened her eyes with a smile and a stretch. "Thank you Ray. I appreciate it." Holding the blanket over her body as she sat up. Thankful it was Saturday she didn't need to rush to be anywhere. As he left, she realized that her clothes had fallen to the floor when she sat up. The bra landing on top of the pile. Hoping he didn't see it, she quickly got dressed after the door to the bedroom closed.

Folding the blanket military style and laying the pillow on top, Linda picked up the plate and brought it to the table. When she caught a glimpse of herself in the window, she rushed to the kitchen sink to fresher up. Slicking back her hair and putting it back up to the tight bun, then washed her face with the cold water so it didn't bother Ray.

Ray showered and dressed before reappearing. It was a Saturday and only had afternoon classes. He got his plate of food and joined Linda at the table.

"I hope it tastes alright. My cooking skills have lacked practising thanks to my long hours."

He ate his food, occasionally glancing at Linda.

Nodding her head and swallowing before speaking, she answered casually. "It's good. Maybe I can thank you with dinner. My cooking skills haven't lapsed." Her lips turning upward in a genuine smile. She thought about returning to the cold heart, but couldn't do it after him being so nice. Though she hated the fact she would have to at the office.

A warming of the heart, what's next? "You know, I can't have anyone know this. Worse, I will be returning to be ice at the office. I am not even sure how to explain why my car is still at work. So, I am going to say sorry now." There was no other way to explain it, though she probably would hear and see more hot shots once he bragged he had the ice princess in his barracks for the night.

Ray wondered for a moment.

"Perhaps I can have my driver drop you to the Colonel's office and you can say you spent the night at a hotel in town."

He wanted to help her avoid any unnecessary aggrivation.*

"Don't worry, I won't say anything. It can stay our secret", he said with a smile.

Linda sat for a moment and thought. Coming up with what she thought was a brilliant idea. "It is Saturday and the colonel is off. Since you are going today for classes, let's have the driver return me home. When you leave this evening, why not bring my car to me? I do owe you at least a dinner for the problems last night."

This was completely out of character for her to do such a thing. The last man who entered her home was her ex. Yet here she sat, still in yesterday's clothes inviting Ray over. She honestly did not want to do the walk of shame during the daylight. Let alone be returned in his loaned car.

Hopeful he would take the offer, she looked to him and broke out with another smile.

Ray nodded and smiled.

"Ok you have yourself a deal."

He collected the plates off the table, then went to the phone and rang for the driver, giving him the agreed instructions.

In 5 minutes, the driver arrived. He walked Linda out and said goodbye. He then went about his chores as he did every Saturday morning.

Following lunch, he went to class, where he had to digest the files of the ten most dangerous nazi prisoners at Baden Baden. When they were done, he fetched the keys for Linda's car from her desk, then drove to her house. It was pretty easy to find. He walked up to the door and gently knocked.*

Thanking Ray again, she got into the car and instructed the driver to her place. The moment she walked into the door, she stripped from her clothes. Walking through the house in the buff, she made her way to the shower and relaxed. Freshly clean and dressed, Linda picked up the few things around her house. “Hmm.. I don’t even know what he would eat.” Fiddling around in the kitchen, she figured out that she would make one of her specialties. Taking inventory of what she needed to get, she remembered that she didn’t have a car. “Ok, that we will have to change that plan.” Thinking of more things to make, she finally got it.

With the lasagna in the oven, Salad prepared and the brownie dessert; Linda was happy with the outcome of the last minute decision. It was then she heard the knock at the door. Letting her hair down again from the pony tail she had up for most of the day, she took a deep breath and answered the door. “Hi Captain. Come on in.”; opening the door wider for him to enter. “Welcome to my humble abode.” Flushing deep red as he entered, she shut the door.

Ray smiled as she opened the door.*

"Thank you", he said entering her home.*

He looked at her well kept home

"Lovely place you got here, and by that smell a delicious dinner on the way too".*

"Thanks. I hope you like it. Italian for the evening." Leading him into the living room.

Linda looked over Ray in his blue jeans and polo, tight in all the right areas. She couldn't help to give him a second look. "Umm what would you like to drink? I have wine, beer, water, tea. Dinner should be ready in a few moments."

Smiling she clasped her hands awaiting his answer, thinking she probably should have dressed in something different than a short sundress.

Ray noticed her attire

"You looked beautiful this evening", he said smiling.

"Beer please."

He watched her retrieve the beer and pour a glass of wine for herself. They sat on the couch together.

"I trust my driver got you here safely".

"Your not bad yourself, Ray" giving a quirked smile handing over the beer.

Since she had a glass of wine while she was cooking, Linda was more relaxed than normal. It also helped she was in her own home instead of out in a bar or his quarters.

"That he did. And did anyone see you leave with my car this afternoon?" tucking her legs under her when she sat news him. The dress rising up her thigh a bit. "Again, I can't apologize enough for my actions last night. You had me at a very bad time with the ex and other things. Please forgive me"

Ray shook his head.

"No, I made sure nobody did.

And please stop apologising. You were obviously going through a lot. I was being a little too flirtatious and forward."

He noticed her dress riding, exposing more of her luscious thighs. It was a very arousing sight to Ray, but he quickly brushed it off, looking directly into Linda's eyes, giving her his full attention.

His eyes caught her attention. He actually admitted that he was being forward. "No, you were fine. I am use to the hot shots trying to hook up with me."; she laughed. She didn't want to put him in the same category as the others, but he was leaving for Baden Baden in 3 weeks.

It was an awkward silence between them when the timer went off. She wanted to say how much she enjoyed his company and how he treated her, but she couldn't do it. She couldn't fall for a hot shot.

"Dinner's ready." Smiling and gets up for the kitchen. Her dress catches and flashes Ray part of her bare bubble butt.

Ray bit back a gasp she involuntarily flashed a glimpse of her seemingly tight ass. He joined at the table, looki g at the spread she had put out for him.

"This all looks amazing Linda, thank you", he said with a smile. She served them both and they tucked in.

Ray wanted to tuck into her past as well. She was opening up to him, do he figured she might divulge a little more.

"So where are you from originally?"

Smiling she poured another glass of wine for herself and grabbed another beer for him. Forming some of the salad as she answered.

"Actually I was born in Munich Germany. When I was 5, I came over with my family and got my residency. Most of my life I live off the beaches of Florida until I joined the service at 18. From then on is history. What about you? What's your story?"

Linda was enjoying this. It was the first meal with anyone in months and missed it. Even if it was with a hot shot.

Ray took a swig of beer before answering.

"Originally from Winsconsin. Had your typical childhood. I've always wanted to serve my country. I joined as soon as I could and I've been working my way up ever since."

Ray hadn't enjoyed the company of such a beautiful woman in a long time and he was determined to make the most of it. He smiled again at her warmly.

Giving a small chuckle. "What is the meaning of a typical childhood? Is there such a thing?" Eating another bite of food. His smile warmed her in ways she couldn't understand. Crossing her legs the other way, she shifted in her seat.

Since we talking frankly, she decided to be a little daring. "If you don't mind me asking, what is it that makes your blood boil?" Blinking she knew it was the wine talking.
