Yes, it's cheap and petty and all that... But all the self-help books say that you should celebrate your successes to build self-esteem! Even if they don't, I'm saying it, and by god I've got a right to say it!

And, truth be told, there are lots of us here who could do with some self-esteem building. Not saying names, but ...

Shameless "nyahh-nyahhs" and finger-pointing are allowed, but let's try to be magnanimous in our vindication, shall we?

For no good reason, any post supporting or opposing an "I told you so..." post must start with an exclamation beginning with H. Like, "Huzzuh!" or "Here here!" if you agree, or "Hell's bells!" or "Holy Mother of God!" if you disagree. You're writers, use your imaginations.

Yes, I've been drinking.

I told you so....

Valerie Plame was, indeed, a covert CIA operative who had served overseas.

Plame was 'covert' agent at time of name leak

WASHINGTON - An unclassified summary of outed CIA officer Valerie Plame's employment history at the spy agency, disclosed for the first time today in a court filing by Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald, indicates that Plame was "covert" when her name became public in July 2003.

The summary is part of an attachment to Fitzgerald's memorandum to the court supporting his recommendation that I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, Vice President Cheney's former top aide, spend 2-1/2 to 3 years in prison for obstructing the CIA leak investigation.

The nature of Plame's CIA employment never came up in Libby's perjury and obstruction of justice trial. ...

Not political, but -

My sister and I have been estranged for awhile.

She's been rather a bully to my kids, to us (we're rotten parents in her view) and I have been saying to my husband and to my mom (who worries) that once she has kids, once she is in the same situation, she will understand, and we will once again get along.

That, or I will kill her.

Anyway, she now has two kids in diapers, she's exhausted all the time, she's feeling the financial strain and this past weekend she said the magic words -

"I never realized. . ."

:cathappy:

(Perhaps now the healing can begin?)

I didn't say I told you so. But I thought it!!!!

Huzzah!
Having kids is without a doubt the "unless you've been there you can't understand" last word winner. Just is.

Two kids in diapers. Wow! Payback's a bitch.

It's always fulfilling to witness enlightenment... ;)

How's about this?

I was wrong about George Jr.. Granted, I hoped Shrub wouldn't run in the first place, voted against him twice, considered him a spoiled rich kid getting by on family connections, a classic light-weight who was all hat and no herd, as the saying goes here in Texas, with precious little under the hat. But while I sensed all that, I still never imagined his administration would be, could be, such a monumental fuck-up.

My bad.

You had an inkling, you acted on it, and you turned out to be right! Moreover, you did this in an adverse environment, against the popular wisdom of your locale.

Bottom line - you were directionally accurate! Degree is something you can work on... ;)
