my .02 cents worth

The Beatles had a few decent ones but worth all the hype? I don't think so and if we're to be honest some of the early stuff was rather lame but being it was different youth of the age ran to it like stink on shit.

The Stones? They are now called classic, my question is this. You find a 100 year old pile of dog crap, does that make it classic?

The question of who changed what isn't as important (if anything really is? but rather who made an impact with their music that changed things for the good, so where does Buddy Holly fit in?
I think you have to give him the kudos for breaking the mold and preparing those that followed.

Anyone remember Harry Nilsson? If you need to call the Beatles great you really must accept that Harry got them there, if you don't think so, do some searching and find out for yourself.

Making major changes in the land of music, I feel the Eagles have to be in the running, Elton John, Chet Atkins (who doesn't wish they played as well as he did) and others, so all in all while the Beatles did make a mark and used the media like no one else did for the time I don't go out of the way to adore them.
