I understand.

This is, obviously, an issue, and certainly a complicated one.

Ban transgender athletes from competing, and you are being trans-phobic and not PC.

Allow them to compete, and you risk having athletes go through gender-reassignment simply to game the system and out-compete natural-born females.

So, what is the answer? I don't know. While I would propose banning M/F transgender athletes from competing in women's sports, that does risk a backlash from the PC crowd, and reeks of discrimination, even if there is a practical reason for it.
