I just heard on the news that the government is using a program to look at people's e-mails. Now I'm just a dumb, computer illiterate loser but are men in black suits and sunglasses going to kick down my door tomorrow because I send sick stories to Literotica? Just wondering.........

There coming to take you away hehe hoho haha there coming to take you away... those men in there clean black coats.. hehe haha hoho

I really thought we were done with the incest threads....

I wonder if the feds can eavesdrop on IM chats. There's something kind of creepy about the idea of an FBI guy spanking his monkey while snooping on my cyber tickling sessions.

Speaking from personal experience on the issue, no, they won't bother you cause you like porn. They'll just note it in your file, if they even bother. You have any idea how much manpower it would take for them to physically notice your porno proclivities? How many hits does this site average? It may be in their mainframe, but it's highly unlikely they notice these things. Just don't work for the Pentagon unless you wanna talk about your dirty stories. You pervert.

WOW...

I'm guessing it takes one whole wing of the Pentagon to keep track of my porno activities...Now we know where all the money for "black" ops goes!

Thank you killermuffin for actually giving me a decent reply. I was genuinely concerned that my sicko habits would be taken into account and that they release the hounds on me. If I couldn't write sicko stories, I just don't know what would become of me.

The average citizen out there has jack to worry about, other than the fact that their privacy can be invaded rather easily at anytime. Legalities aside. Unless you want to get a job with the government that requires extensive background checks, that's a different story, don't plan on hiding anything cause they'll look for it. There is safety in the sheer number of computer users, there just isn't enough government employees, counting the entire armed forces as well, to track everyone's internet usage. They leave that to the hackers. ;)

By the by, you may want to check out http://www.grc.com just to see how much crap your puter is "broadcasting" onto the internet without you knowing. If you don't have a firewall already, I suggest zonealarm2, free at http://www.zonelabs.com if you aren't a business user. Nice of them huhm?

I think the secret to keep from being taken away for anal probes by aliens (at least that's what they call themselves) is to visit so many sites, and convince so many friends to visit lots of sites, that they don't have time to try to figure out who you are and where you are. Of course that's what they told me when.....hold on, someone's knocking at my door...

OMG! ROTFLMAO.. you are too funny!

Hey Muffin, thanks for the Zonelabs info, I don't have a firewall and was wondering how to get one. You saved the day for two ppl today. You can go to bed now with no worries.

FYI a few points from the other side of the pond.

From my reading of the USA and other governments, all read international E mails as a matter of course. The National Security Agency runs checking programs that scan for "Trigger" words.

So when you send an E mail about how your girlfriend explodes like AN ATOMIC BOMB, when she cums, you can bet that is collected and filed away somewhere.

A bill has just passed in the UK, giving employers the right to read all E mails that are on their computer systems. Including private ones that you generate on your own time, (lunch or coffee breaks, before or after working hours).

A second bill is in the process of being enacted, that makes it unwise to use encryption on E mails, the new bill states that when asked for the code to decrypt by the police or other authorized person (this was left non-specific as to just who this could be).
You would be liable to 2 years imprisonment for each E mail that they have to crack.

Judging by the numbers of E mails that I send in a week, and for some I do use encryption and compression programs, I will at some point expect a knock on the door by the police or others. I will be able to give them the encryption and compression codes, and avoid the 2 years prison, but I may get arrested instead for "wasting the time of this Agency".

So the short answer is yes your data you send is scanned.

Should you worry about it, No not unless you you are going for a sensitive security job, and as KillerMuffin says if do go for a job like that admit everything if you want the job.
