When Mr & Mrs Smith hire a French woman to tutor their eighteen year old son in her language prior to a year abroad, they fail to realize that her method is based on the old saying that the best way to learn a language is in bed.

Let's kick it up a notch. We'll set the story in the Star Trek universe. The (human) parents want their son to learn Klingon so that he can get into Star Fleet as a language specialist. They hire a female Klingon tutor to school him in the nuances of Klingonese. They don't know that she uses the tried and true "learning in bed" method.

Not very plausible, since they have universal translators for that.
Now, if you'd set in in a scenario where said translator breaks and when they have to learn each others languages, the power of love is a very good tutor...

True, the universal translators are fine for the hoi poloi. But top language specialists need to actually learn the language to understand the nuances. Besides, sex with a Klingon chick would be awesome!

Or make it a Hoshi Sato-fanfic (real ST fans know what I'm talking about).
