The Fraud trying to ban AR-15 ammo

He can't ban guns, so he places a ban on bullets. We predicted this.

Expect him to do the same thing to 9mm soon.

The ATF and Obama administration was caught red-handed arming violent Mexican drug gangs with military firearms and tried to blame that on lax gun laws in America.

They were not military grade weapons, but that is exactly why they were arming them. They had long made the invalid argument that Mexican violence was because of American guns. Problem is until the Obama Administration asked gun dealers to look the other way, it was hard to make strawman purchases in America in any quantity. The guns were imported from elsewhere or stolen from Mexican armories.

The whole point of the operation was to make sure that guns found at Mexican crime scenes had American serial numbers. Someone should be in jail for that.

Who is going to prosecute....the DOJ?

Yes, it was a false flag operation to blame gun rights in America.

Progressives are fond of world courts. Convene a war crimes tribunal.

In fact- if a smart thinking gun dealer had not insisted that BATF agents show up in person to give their bizarre instructions and caught them on tape, the left would be calling for prosecution of gun dealers and would be using the incidents to insist that the UN small arms treaty be ratified.

Wow, there are just so many anti-Obama threads to make, you can't get anything else done today.

OK, please tell us why civilians should have armor-piercing bullets.

Ar-15 ammo is not typically "armor-piercing," dunce.

Two cops just got shot in my neighborhood with (I believe) a 9mm handgun. Both were wearing ballistic vests. Both had injuries from the penetration. The ammo was definitively not rated "armor piercing."

If one wanted to shoot someone in the vest one would use a single-shot, bolt action deer rifle. I would recommend the Remington 700 in 30.06. Use a full-metal jacket. Readily available, and not at all affected by these proposed rules.

For the sake of discussion since you will say ban those, I could easily add a steel penetrating sabot to any round.

Those of you that know nothing about firearms don't even bother to weigh-in beyond, "Guns scare me, and I depend on my armed neighbors and police to keep the lawless at bay."

The only AR-15 bullets that are up for a ban are the armor-piercing ones.

Do the smallest amount of research before you spout off.

Alex Jones. That's all you need to know about the verisimilitude of the story.
Oh, it's all over the news.

That's wrong and I posted the pertinent information in the first thread.

The rounds being banned are not lead.

The EPA will ban the lead ones.

But all will pierce body armor.

Unless it is at 500 meters. I can put 10 out of 10 rounds into the head of an alpha target at that distance with an M-16. I proved that several times on the range in the Marines.

Expect ammo sales to skyrocket and expect this to be challenged in court and for Obama to lose, again...

;) ;)

PS - It is his green lobby that wanted steel rounds to replace lead rounds, because, you know, paint chips...

;) ;)

"Research" does not mean reading someone that has as much information about firearms as you do.

ALL rifle ammunition will pierce the light protection that police typically wear. 5.56 ammo is intended for use in rifles. It is exempt, as most rifle ammo is, from the "armor piercing" rules that apply to handgun loads.

Some manufacturers have chambered handguns to accept these small, not very powerful rifle rounds.

per the Washington Examiner, Feb 26:

The agency proposes to reclassify it as armor-piercing and not exempt.

This is exactly the same as the "Assault Weapons Ban" which did no such thing. Assault weapons were already not available on the civilian market without very stringent controls and licensing fees. The law simply picked some guns that LOOKED like assault weapons and classified them as such and banned those.

A 5.56 round will not penetrate actual armor as in steel and ceramic plates the military uses.

I hope Scott Walker is paying attention and looking forward to 'rw-neo-con-Fundamentalist-Right-to-Life-anti-union-anti-education' executive orders.
