I just attempted to submit a story, and received the following message: "The following tag(s) contain prohibbited (sic) words:reverse rape (rape)"

I have confirmed that no stories on this site are tagged "rape." However, I have read plenty of stories here that contain actions legally classified as rape, and rape is not listed as one of the things we're not allowed to write about. What gives?

It's just one of those things.

You also can't use the word "baby" in a tag, in any context. Baby sitter, babymaker, babydoll... they'll all go pfft on you as keywords.

It doesn't mean that the story would be rejected. You just can't use that keyword.

Oh I am so glad you asked!! Of course anyone seeing me post here is going to be mad that you did!

Okay seriously I do not really know the answer however I will give you my pet theory. Rape is a crime and denotes sexual assault which means the woman is being harmed during sex. Lit has a 'soft rule' that a person cannot sustain physical damage during sexual encounters (the extremely hardcore BDSM tales need to be careful on this as well as non consent)

Now before some idiot chimes in I will add that if a woman, or man for that matter, is raped that means they have been assaulted and does mean they were harmed during sex. These stories break the soft rule whether anyone wants to admit it or not. But Lit wants to have their cake and eat it to.

Now the theory; Literotica does not want the word rape in titles or tags so they can fly under the radar. Search engines work by key word. Anyone looking for rape types in that word and this way Literotica will not pop up. They use non consent, if you want to find rape stories most people do not use the word non consent it is just not the way people think; they think rape.

This is Lit's way of doing some CYA. Many serial rapists have rape stories and videos on their PC. The detectives and FBI collect this info. There is no way to blame these stories for the rapists actions but who needs the attention? By not allowing the word rape Lit flies under the radar of agencies that keep track of this info. It is also why they are so adamant on underage. technically they could allow it by law, but why take chances of drawing undo attention. This is the same situation. The rape audience is as important to them as any other so they want to have the category but don't want to get flagged for it like other sites.

As I said this is an opinion not fact. If anyone knows the real reason chime in here. Until then I like the clandestine theory.

this has the makings of an urban legend, both the question and the speculations and fantasies of Lovey.

i just did a search under 'rape' with Lit's engine and came up with 13,000 hits. i'm not sure about 'keywords' policy, but the general policy clearly is not trying to 'fly under the radar.' while most 'rape' stories are 'reluctance followed by woman's pleasure' (ravishment) fantasies, there are some rape stories and stories of harm esp. in the horror category.

the issue of stories collected by criminals is lovey's scrape with some really bad weed. the issue for Lit is the law, generally, or proposed laws, and these have to do, principally with minors.

I do not smoke weed it is the chosen drug of escapists. Nor am I ever hopped up on anything more than way too much caffeine

All of my opinions/delusions are 100% natural thank you very much!

You know Pure? I try to self analyze once in awhile and I freely admit that threads like this seem to have pavlov's dog effect on me. In rational states I keep my crap to myself then I see this and the bell rings and....

Oh well maybe the problem is I should try weed.

First, I believe most non-consent stories involve extortion or sexual harassment or some other action that is illegal but falls short of rape. There are also role-playing stories where the people pretend to rape somebody. In some of the first kind, the victims end up enjoying the sex and may even want more.

I have only one story about a man raping a woman, and she was actually the ghost of a woman he raped earlier. The victim's mother shoots the man at the end of the story. I have one about a woman using a strapon on an unwilling man's ass, but that was revenge for his sexual harassment of her and other women. I have quite a few stories about the abduction and enslavement and rape and abuse of women, and I need to walk a pretty tight line to get this kind approved.

Mostly, I write stroke stories about fun sex, but I have a dark side too.

As for being illegal, probably most of the stories are about actions that are illegal somewhere. This would include things such as incest and sodomy and adultery.
