I've been wondering and maybe it's just me but has anyone else noticed that once their story is no longer featured in the "New Story" category that readership, feedback and voting seems to disappear? Does anyone else experience this or is it just me?

It isn't just you.

You'll get most of your hits for new stories in the first few days after it posts.

Later, after you've submitted a few more stories and developed a following, you'll see more activity.

I hope so.

A point I aspire to reach.

Yeah its usually the case. I personally think its because people get jaded about scrolling through thousands of stories which usually all contain the same 2 sentence plot description, eg:
'Fucking my wife hard'
A story about my wife getting fucked then fucked again
etc

Its easier to just check the newly submitted section for new pieces and give them a chance. most of my stories have had a lot of votes but rarely get feedback now. I suppose its made up for when you get a really moving responce like someone reads a story you've submitted and can relate to it personally and then tell you about it.

People are reading them so keep it up! (no pun intended)

Yeah thats usually the case but now and again I get a bit of feedback on an older story.

Ive always wondered suspiciously about new stories with appearing with an H already but hey it just happened to me! Probly bomb now ;)

It also possibly seems to depend which day of the week your story comes out how much feedback/votes you get. From the stories & poems I posted the ones that came out towards the end of the week seem to be read more than the ones posted at the beginning of the week. One of my earlier ones came online near the end of the week and received a decent amount of feedback, etc. but my latest one barely has any votes and no comments, I think because it came out the beginning of the week. Not sure if that is just coincidence or not though...

I think it's the same for everyone although earlier stories pop up with feedback from time to time.
I have a certain sympathy for the reader - there is so much rubbish to search through to find a diamond.
