Lots of nice people at chat. A lot of the bb members came from the chat room. I personally prefer the hot tub in the chat room...its nice. Go there its cool.

I couldn't tell you about chat tho' haven't been there in a year or so. Huhmm, perhaps I should drop and say hi, yes?

I do know that there is no cybersex in the lounge and that you should check profiles before PMing.

I vastly prefer the BB, not because of all the friends I made here or that it's an addictive place to hang out, but because it's not real time and I can maintain a full "chat" presence and write all at the same time. In chats you afk, you miss out.

One more thing, it's a Java chat, the client is on the server, you don't use your own like IRC. It's a lot safer.

Just log in and start talking. Its real time, it goees very quickly in the lounge. The other rooms are a tad slower. Don't type in caps, don't pm without asking first, read the profiles. You should be just fine. Have fun!

I'm suggesting it too Some people don't want to get private messages or want you to ask first before sending them. Profiles may also save time as they might contain information about the person you are interested in chatting with, such as their age, sex, sexual orientation, where they live, etc etc.

As a long time chatter in that particular room it gets rather annoying to constantly see A/S/L? It's all in the profile for your convenience most of the time. Good luck when you get in here...lol.

They changed that, Muff...You can do it as long as its not offending anyone. I know of a few who have put on some great shows for the lounge and not gotten booted for it. I have not personally tested this. I prefer my shows to be a little more intimate than the lounge!

Sunnygirl said it all. Just read the profiles, they are very informative. They will tell you whether someone is open to private messages, it may tell you what they are into, it may tell you a multitude of things...thats why its good to read it. Always ask for a pm, even if their profile says they are open to it. Its just the polite thing to do.

Chat is a lot of fun. I have made great friends there. I don't go over there as much anymore, I like the pace of the bb better.

Some of the people post who/what sex they prefer to cyber with. Also, some only chat in public, never in PM (private message) and that sometimes can be found out in a profile. You will need to register for the chatroom (can do this on the chatroom log in page) as the chatroom requires a separate account from the rest of the site.

As the rest have said , it is real time and the scroll can move quickly. Read the rules on the log in page, treat the other chatters as you would like to be treated and you should do just fine.

If so I have not found most to be very informative.

You aren't missing anything. Chat is different from the bb. Chat has profiles of their own.

When you register for the chatroom, as I stated before it requires a separate registration from ther est of the site, you can fill in your own profile. Once in the chatroom, click on a chatters name then click on the icon at the top of the user list that has the blue i. This will show you their profile. To send a PM (private message) double click on the chatters name. To change rooms, click on the rooms tab at the top of the user list, select the room you wish to enter, then click on enter. If you keep the box which says show all users unchecked it will show you only the people in the room you are in. If you find someone to chat with and wish to setup a locked room...click on the rooms tab, click on new, name the room and provide a password. Let the other person know the name of the room and password and voila...you are in a locked room where you can talk on a bigger scroll than in the PM box.

cat? That's the modify rofile on the log in page that isn't working and I notified Laurel and manu about it. I was trying to explain to him how to read a profile inside the chatroom?
