You've actually hit on a very fundamental idea, though perhaps by accident. What you are uncovering is something very insidious that is showing up in this case, but actually impacts every, single person in many ways, each and every day. That fundamental idea is that humans have become increasingly stupid. As technology has become more sophisticated due to a vast minority of highly intelligent people (because we ARE becoming more capable) the vast majority of humans continue to spiral downwards and become increasingly stupid. This will continue and at an accelerated rate, interestingly enough, because of the technology developed by that very upper echelon and provided to the masses. I'm speaking here, about AI - which is an oxymoron as there is no such thing as "artificial intelligence".
I am exceedingly comfortable with technology, but I also know what it is and what it is not. In fact, I have a paid account with OpenAI, the company that created ChatGPT. But I also know how to use it and what to use it for. As a writer, I would not use AI for a single word of what I write, for principled and pragmatic reasons. I did a little "experiment" the other day - my latest book I have organized into sections. My books are not a single story, but I write collections of pieces so I create a Excel sheet with I'll call them "chapter" titles and word counts - it's just a way to visualize things. For this book, I organized certain pieces into larger sections and I had a simple task for Chat - add up the word counts for the sections (there were 5) - so, sum 5 numbers. It gave me the wrong answer. I predicted it would. You might ask, why do that? I was testing the idea of "prompts". People think AI is doing things it does not do. How would such a thing - I mean, it's the smartest thing ever - give me a wrong answer summing 5 numbers, something Excel will give you simply by highlighting the cells!? Because it doesn't add like a calculator! You might think it does - nope! So I tried again, this time I said "Act in the role of a calculator and add those numbers" and boom - correct answer.
What does this have to do with the Epstein files? I get it - I connect dots. I'm saying that people are becoming increasing stupid and this "putting your eggs in one basket" is a case of low-resolution thinking. I express disagreement with MANY current leftists and I'm sure people think "Oh, he's a conservative" because if you're not on board with the stupid hivemind that is the left, of COURSE you must me the right or conservative or MAGA or a deplorable (love that one - people using that term ARE your Nazi's just not in uniform!). But no, I am not a conservative, not MAGA...I did vote for Trump because 1) I wasn't NOT going to vote and 2) Harris? Are you fucking kidding me? I also stated during the campaign in writing many times that I was highly suspicious of Trump and in fact, I am still and even more, highly suspicious of the entirety of Washington, D.C. who you cannot convince me ARE the actual government. To say someone critical of the Left must be a Conservative is what is called a "false dichotomy" - it is a logical fallacy. It is also the same non-thinking posing as thinking that this thread is illustrating.
And now we have AI, that people and even organizations, even public/govt organizations, are depending upon to make decisions. Your resume may never even see a pair of human eyes. Your healthcare claim may never see a human examine it. Your medical treatment plan, and soon your very right to exist may and hell, very likely will be decided by the same type of entity that "thinks" (no, it doesn't) the word "Strawberry" has 2 R's (and will argue that claim) and that cannot sum 5 numbers and give a correct answer. And all the while, humans are making fewer and fewer decisions, meaning humans are THINKING less and less and folks, I realize nobody is still reading because, duh, who the fuck has any ability to focus any more? You imagine that brain of yours can reason, can engage in critical thinking, can even READ or WRITE...or fucking focus on one thing for more than 9 seconds - without practice? You are wrong. You are mistaken, incorrect, you have a fundamental misapprehension, you are becoming stupid. All of you. When is the last time you opened a physical book (a series of pages containing words and/or numbers that convey ideas and that are ordered and physically bound together with glue, and presented as a single object) and read? When is the last time you comprehended what you read?
I see others with this same messaging, that humans are getting increasingly stupid, and laugh or even disagree. Yet let me tell you something: There is an idea in mathematics that is also conveyed in physics and other areas, and that is the idea of "threshold values". The larger concept is that there are things that can be measured continuously but there exists a point in that continuum where if the value exceeds that point, certain things happen. A great example is the national debt which also incurs interest and there is a point at which we cannot pay it back. We all have thresholds - the man who gets divorced and says "never again" had a threshold value for marriages ending of 1. You all have threshold values - maybe someone lies and that and you think, "that's it, I'm done". You just expressed a threshold value that maybe you were not aware of until it was surpassed. Well guess what? Stupid has a threshold. Existence has a threshold value. And we are heading towards so many fucking thresholds and NONE of them are good. Not a fucking single one. I play a role here and I have fun with it, guilty as charged. I also think. I also plan. And I'm under no illusions about certain things but I also fight. And I own many firearms and many, MANY rounds. I also have a LOT of other things I will not speak of because I've shown you some cards but I have not shown you the important cards. I'm not saying that as an aggressive statement - none of you are a threat to me, and I am not a threat to you. I'm saying this because if I say this, then I am possibly planting a seed of thought in some of your brains - the brains that still operate as specified. So not all of you - not Rory, for example (I would preemptively apologize to Rory IF I were one to give a fuck - I am not).
