I just submitted my written exam to my teacher. The course is officially over, and I'm going to the Unemployment Agency on Monday.

These past 6 months have just rushed by!

Congratulations on finishing your coursework. And good luck finding a good (and profitable) way to put it to use.

p.s. Great Goose!

All geese are great.;)

It's amazing, you know - I graduated with a 4,2 average (out of 5,0) from Senior High School, and now I'm busting my ass to get hired by the local version of K-Mart.

While my fellow school mates graduated with 3,2, and now have well-paid jobs and villas..!

Sweden..!

What the heck is that all about? You all graduated with the same majors, or they're in different fields with more demand on new hires? Doesn't make much sense to me.

There's higher demands for secretaries and bank-tellers than language-savvy webdesigners.:(

I suppose that's the way it is nearly everywhere. At least it is here. But I'd think being language savvy would give you quite a leg up on all that.

~lucky (good luck Flicka. opportunity has always knocked on my door when I LEAST expected it.)

LOL

Well if minsue has her way, we'll all need herding before long. Although I've never seen what the payscale and hourly requirements are for that sort of thing. But on the plus side, if you could do it in America then you and hubby could be together again. :D And that'd probably make up for whatever drawbacks the job had.

Hubby has made up his mind. He's going to move to Sweden. Less crime, less violence, more socialism, cleaner environment... We want to buy a house and have little piglets (ie kids) and a dog.
Preferably in the same area where M lives, because it's a great place for raising children - not to mention that we can hang out together more easily.

Well that's fantastic! Being together anywhere is much better than being apart. Believe me, I know. So happy for you both. Hope he's able to find work that suits him there and that you find something that will allow you the freedom you need to start your family. Exciting times for you, hon. :)

Thank you.

I will, ofcourse, give very detailed descriptions when that time comes. Should only be about 2 more years now.

Hubby, the big romantic, told me how he imagined it would be when we move into our house... a big house with a really big yard, a garden, loads and loads of boxes with stuff to carry inside... and me not able to carry much, because of my big, round belly.

Keep that ambition going. People I work with, who seems to know this kind of things, are telling me that there's a new boom to be expected in web production and similar markets again. They'll need people like you.

Best wishes with the guy/house/piglet plans. Sounds like a bloody perfect life to me.

Well I'm looking forward to his image of your future coming true in grand fashion. That two year wait will definitely be worth it then. I love the part where you don't have to help too much with the move. And the best part is, he sounds excited about it being just like that.

Good luck.

Give me time to build up my flock, 'Flicka. You'll be the first one I call to keep 'em in line.

Until then, sending hopeful wishes your way.

Just a thought - ask the Agency if they have agency work, before accepting any-old-job.  My own experience working for a driving agency has been that I now know much more about the range of employers than I did before I started.  In fact I've decided that I actually prefer agency work to all but one of the many individual employers I've serviced - but that's a different issue.  My point is that it'll be good to play the field for a while before settling for any 'proper job'.

Let us know what the course graders did to you - I want to have the opportunity to congratulate you on your achievement.

Onwards and upwards, Svenska.

Hi Svenska,
Glad to hear you and hubby will live in Sweden. It's a good country to raise kids in.

As I haven't kep up with the latest happenings, what course did you finish? That computer one?

I've been working as a substitute teacher since 1 March and know I have work till end of next week. Met a guy through work, so shouldn't complain though. ;) Now I have a new cute friend to hang out with, and some money!

Take care!
/LP

It is easier to find work in a more generally defined field than in a highly specialized one, yes. That does not necessarily mean it is more fulfilling.

I myself am working in a field that either the high-school-graduating or college-graduating me had never even considered. Surprise! I actually like my job. Well, most of the time. I would say to keep your options and your mind open, make sure you can pay the bills and never give up on your ambition. It might just be a matter of time.

(secretly still wishing to be "discovered" by the sports editor of the local paper and given the beat writer spot for my local 9)

Thank you, everyone!

Yes, LP, it was that computer course I was telling about earlier. Nice to hear that you're happy with your work and your new friend.

Yes, Lucky, it was his idea, so I think he won't mind at all doing most of the carrying. He's so sweet and romantic.
