Over the past few months, I've noted a number of threads being diverted from their stated purpose by melodramas and assorted attacks by this person or group on that person or group. What I propose is that such situations be transferred to this thread, so that those who wish to read and participate in them can, and those who don't can stay in the other threads and just enjoy themselves.

Participants can even post in the original thread something like, "I am not happy about such-and-so's post above, and have responded in the Drama-Llama-Rama Thread." Then everyone will know that there's a drama going on, and those who wish to follow it can.

Leave it to you, Sir_Winston, to think of everything...

ok, duly noted...

This is going to denigrate into people being nice to each other, it's happening already.

Just kidding, peeps!

Hatred is the paprika of the bdsm community. I'm glad we don't all get along. I can't stand some of you, it's mutual, and that's just fine.

My theory is nothing said or done here is worth getting upset about. My second theory is if you don't like the way things are leave and come back in a month. You'll find a new board.

I wonder if the librarian is up yet. Lets kidnap her and do naughty things to her. Tie her up and make her sing.

Australians all let us rejoice,
For we are young and free;
We've golden soil and wealth for toil,
Our home is girt by sea;
Our land abounds in Nature's gifts
Of beauty rich and rare;
In history's page, let every stage
Advance Australia fair!
In joyful strains then let us sing,
"Advance Australia fair!"

When gallant Cook from Albion sail'd,
To trace wide oceans o'er,
True British courage bore him on,
Till he landed on our shore.
Then here he raised Old England's flag,
The standard of the brave;
With all her faults we love her still,
"Brittannia rules the wave!"
In joyful strains then let us sing
"Advance Australia fair!"

Beneath our radiant southern Cross,
We'll toil with hearts and hands;
To make this Commonwealth of ours
Renowned of all the lands;
For those who've come across the seas
We've boundless plains to share;
With courage let us all combine
To advance Australia fair.
In joyful strains then let us sing
"Advance Australia fair!"

While other nations of the globe
Behold us from afar,
We'll rise to high renown and shine
Like our glorious southern star;
From England, Scotia, Erin's Isle,
Who come our lot to share,
Let all combine with heart and hand
To advance Australia fair!
In joyful strains then let us sing
"Advance Australia fair!"

Shou'd foreign foe e'er sight our coast,
Or dare a foot to land,
We'll rouse to arms like sires of yore
To guard our native strand;
Brittannia then shall surely know,
Beyond wide ocean's roll,
Her sons in fair Australia's land
Still keep a British soul.
In joyful strains the let us sing
"Advance Australia fair!"

We get along too much around here! How many times have I heard that? Oh, about as many times as I've heard . . . The board is having too many fights. Bullshit I say. Bullshit to both.

Yeah, I'm in a mood.

:devil:

I have nothing mean to say but a very big THANK-YOU... I'm Australian & got homesick just reading your thread...

It's easy.

Don't read Isolated Blurts.

Don't read Dear X.

Don't read any post by the people you know add nothing but drama.

You win.

Drama that you are unaware of is drama that has precious little chance of affecting you. And if you make no secret of avoiding those threads, people will eventually figure it out and stop asking you if you heard about so-and-so.

Not that this thread is a bad idea. It's a grand one. I won't be reading this one either though. Simpler that way.

Kudos to Sir Winston for a brilliant idea.

AMEN! I don't read the X thread and I only read the blurt thread now and then, and skip over the obvious nasty posts. I think the dear X thread is a disgrace to the board, sorry to say. Especially since the same people who often post subtle insults there are the same people that will have a, well, nuclear fit if you don't say something directly to their face when it comes to insulting THEM.

Idungetit.

I agree that the Dear X thread has been used on occasion to insult others or out them in some way, but I do think it has value. At least, it does to me.

To me, the purpose is more like posting random entries from an epistolary novel. Or maybe letters to Santa. For newbies and shy people, both of which apply to me, it's also a way to get our feet wet in posting and let people know a bit about ourselves. I've posted letters on there several times, and it helped me forge connections with a few people here, as well as gave me a forum for some difficult personal issues that I didn't have anyone to tell about at the time.

So it's kind of sad to me that some people's use of that thread and others has caused the threads to be kind of blacklisted, when really, there are things posted there that provide insight into who people really are and what they are going through in their lives, if someone wanted to know.

I do understand wanting to stay out of the drama. Maybe this thread will be the drama-magnet, and the other threads can be brought back into a state of tranquility.

This thread title reminds me of the children's book "Is Your Mama a Llama". I had that book memorized when the kids were small.

hehe ... great idea Sir_W!

But, alas, if drama is recognized as such and moved here, doesn't it becomes comedy and as such become off topic for this thread?

Maybe an "I disagree!" thread would work better ... but I thought that discussion thread were the place for such conversations, and I surely wouldn't want all the discussions to become a love-fest with no content.

As for name calling ... isn't the GB the home of it? ;)

with no offense to the GBers meant ... :D
