As things appear now, neither Hillary nor Obama are going to the convention with enough delegates to get the nod. But Obama is going to have the most delegates. One would think that that would automatically get him the nomination.

Wellllll, maybe. You see, Obama has won his delegates in little states. Many of which go republican in the general election. Hillary has won the big states.

Further, in the general election it's a 'winner takes all' sorta deal instead of the proportional rules under which the democrat primaries were run. In fact, if the big state results for the democrat primary were applied to the general election under GE rules, we'd now be calling her Madam President.

Hillary has clearly shown she can pull the votes from the elector rich big states, while Obama has shown his populist pulling power in the small states.

This creates quite a delimma for the super-delegates.

Come August, Al Gore will be the nominee.

I just like to say that to really scare people.

According to LT, "those" kind of people (white Democrats) won't vote for a black man...

Good thing Obama's not a "real" black man. He's the Magic Negro...

The flaw in your theory is Independents and Republicans voting for Hillary. In Texas she carried the areas that usually vote GOP, Obama carried the traditional Democrat areas.

So far Democrats have ignored the GOP efforts to help her nomination. McCain wants to run against Hillary. He wants to run against her because 1) her nomination will alienate many black voters, 2) her 'experience' pales in comparison to McCain's, and 3) McCain was no Bush allie. She has no ammunition against him.

As usual, Cap'n Amatrixca pollutes the net with ignorance, and I bring the facts to clear the air..

Hillary Rodham Clinton erased Barack Obama’s recent inroads with whites Tuesday night in Ohio. And she did it more with men than women, more with the working class than any other, and more strongly on an economic appeal.

People who've studied the demographics and who know their facts, agree with me.

Those who don't know what the fuck they're talking about, agree with Cap'n Amatrixca...

True enough. But that just adds to the conundrum though, doesn't it? They can either read that as the republicans 'spiking' the election. (Not that democrats EVER do that.) Or they can read it as she can draw the independent/disaffected republican vote.

The fact of the matter is that she's NOT going to quit as long as she can deny Obama the needed delegates. She's going to plan on picking off the super-delegates. Actually, it's the only plan that can work for her.

Florida is the 'ringer' in that process. So far the DNC has stated that they aren't going to pay for another primary and the governor has stated the people aren't. And the DNC has stated they aren't going to seat the FL delegation either.
